Dr. Occult gets credit for being their first "super" hero, having powers, while Crimson Avenger gets credit for having the first costume.
Depends on your definition of "costume", I guess. Dr. Occult did wear a colorful costume in one of his adventures; not sure if it pre-dated Crimson Avenger or not. And it's generous to call C.A.'s early outfit a "costume", isn't it?

Well, like many other early "heroic" characters, it was kind of a rip-off of The Shadow's outfit.
Like this obscure gent that Marvel recently revived after him having just the one Golden Age appearance (in Daring mystery Comics #3):

I think the early Crimson Avenger was more blatantly a rip-off of the Green Hornet. The "colorful" name, the crusading young newspaper publisher identity, the Asian chauffeur/sidekick...it's a wonder they didn't get sued. Later on they wisely decided to make him a blatant rip-off of one of their own properties, Batman.

Oddly, I'm wondering if there was a printed image of Green Hornet during the days of the radio serial which started in 1936. His first movie was 1940 as was his first comic book. However Crimson Avenger first visual appearance was 1938.
Of course, they both are too close to the Shadow who had a pulp in 1930.

There's also The Spider (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Spider) who (I think) was the first direct Shadow copy/competitor. He wore the suit/cape/hat/mask combo too, although he also occasionally didn't wear an mask and had fangs.

Most of those sound pretty good!
I want these clixed: Doc Savage, Fu Manchu, Tarzan, The Shadow, The Green Hornet & Kato, Conan, Solomon Kane, The Phantom, King Kong, Universal Monsters, Black Orchid, Manhunter (Paul Kirk), Xemnu the Titan, unclixed Kirby Fourth World characters, and Lilith, Daughter Of Dracula.
Those sound really good. With the possible exception of Sinestro, none of those that aren't due for a figure or at least a good remake. Not sure whether I'm more excited about Mr. Terrific or about Sargon. Probably Sargon.
C'mon #41, If Wizkids loved me, they'd show me a peek at #41!

The list has been updated, and it looks real perty!
The updates are coming from... oh, just look at every other DC75 thread in the Rumors forum. There was a trade show of some sort and they took pictures of the displays. PERTY! *giggles like schoolgirl* WANT!
Also, some mutant stuff from that other company. Whatever.
2 Things oh great Boneyard. Ocean master was confirmed and Owlman can be taken off the highly rumored list. The reason he was rumored was people saw the Batman sculpt and thought it was Owlman
NO SANTA LEFT BEHIND
Not Just Another Empty Political Slogan
Also, it looks like the White Lanterns have their own separate numbering, so they appear to actually be in addition to the 60 figure set and Sinestro (#100)...
If that's the case, it'll free up some room for figures I was afraid would get bumped, like a much needed Catwoman, Max Lord and some more JSAers and silver age characters (Captain Comet, please!!!!)
I know it's not going to happen in this set, but am I the only one who desperately wants King Faraday, Nemesis (Tom Tresser) and Sasha Bordeaux?

When it comes to Superman and Batman, Grant Morrison is nothing but a 50's cover band in a 70's psychedelic funk style.
