I've seen this happen before (to ME specifically) and thought "Is it just me?" and "How does someone in such an official capacity take things so personally and react in such a volitile manner?"

I think that's just his approach to conversation: curt and somewhat dismissive. At least that's my experience.

I tried to have a philosophical discussion regarding religion with him at one point, and his approach definitely seemed to be one of "NO."
