Just a small bit of trivia. The next to last song you shared, “Highway Star” by Deep Purple, is in large part responsible for much of the Asian metal and rock that has been shared lately. Many of those artists cite Deep Purple, and that song in particular, as a strong influence. In my opinion “All Hail Deep Purple”.
I was just thinking about this and remembered that Deep Purple has their "Made in Japan" album. Then I was curious, was that the first rock live album recorded in Japan? The most popular?

On a whim, I just typed "Japanese Rock" into a search on Wikipedia and the result is a really interesting history of Japanese rock music. It mentions banned Rockabilly in the 1950's, the Beatles tour in 1966, Jimi Hendrix influence on Yuya Uchida in very late 1960's, and the emergence of Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and Deep Purple as an influence in metal. The final section describes the current "Girls Metal Band Boom".
GIMME CHOCOLATE (Babymetal) - From Stephen Corbert Late Show 2016. This is my first time seeing this, and it's ridiculously entertaining. It also shows the actual Kami Band more clearly than I've ever seen them.

And of course, because it's me, some musical theater talents I can't get over: Without You performed by Leslie Odom Jr. Defying Gravity performed by Emmy Raver-Lampman Wait For It performed by Wayne Brady
and as an added bonus, here's someone I was friends with in high school who is now on Broadway. I am so proud of her. She's always been incredibly talented.
MC5 was popular during a wild time in Detroit. I think Alice Cooper had moved there and Iggy Pop and The Stooges were also around. I haven't seen this video in a while, and appreciate being reminded of the energy.
I don't think I ever really wondered about the song's origin. I had heard the Leaves' and the Byrd's version also, but it's really interesting to see a version from 1962. It is surprisingly similar to Jimi Hendrix's release, and I enjoyed hearing it.
I've got a few songs I'd like to post in honor of black history month too.
Classic songs:..............
..........Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood...........

Nina Simone was such a massive talent, and it's still surprising to me how many people aren't familiar with her. I think those people recognize her songs when they hear them, but don't know about her history or her catalogue. Sinnerman has always been a favorite.
The reason to learn to play a pipe organ and volunteer to clean the church on weekends. (I appreciate this guy, but he putters around a little too much with the themes IMO)
..and of course, the "disco version". (It was the 70s, kids.)
