It opened up a bit of a metaphyiscal conundrum.
At the party it was hot, stuffy, loud and the flickering lights were irritating me and hurt my eyes. At one point I was convinced I was in hell. But shouldn't the existence of hell mean that there is a God? And if he is as merciful as he is said to be, why wouldn't he send a lightning bolt to deliver me from this evil?
I asked the DJ to play "I Will Always Love You" by Dolly Parton.
He said he only had the Whitney Houston original.
At that point I felt like the Hulk must feel.
Although it's possible that's because my shirt was a little too tight.
so, i went to the grocery store for the first time since Feb. It was odd, but kinda fun also. Ahh! to take pleasure in the little things.
Now to curl up in bed with a snack of carrots and dried fruit, while i watch one of my favorite movies: Much Ado About Nothing.
Larfleeze is my minion and Darkseid does my bidding!
I saw Avengers last night, excellent movie. Glowstick of Destiny is my new favorite catch phrase. I watched Believe in Me the night before. Really good flick with Jeffrey Donovan and Bob Gunton.
I took my girls to one of their friend's birthday party hosted at a local minor league team stadium. After having pizza in the stadium's kid's fun zone, we sat down to watch a game between the Frederick Keys (home) and the Wilmington Blue Rocks. I sat my youngest of almost two years of age, Violet, right next to me and boy did we have some sweet front-row seats right behind the Keys' dugout, directly across from first base. The baby was all smiles and clapped every time that the crowd went wild.
The most memorable moment of the evening came early in the game. The Keys were up at bat and one of their roster (can't remember who) hit the ball so hard that the bat broke with a loud CRANK and went flying into the stands. Directly at Violet.
I can't remember the exact sequence of events, but it started with the CRACK and the crowd gasping in shock as the wooden missile came speeding straight in our direction. There was not much of a chance to think. I lifted up my arms to cover my face and turned my body to shield Violet. That bat slammed into the bottom part of my left shoulder blade, fortunately above the ribs and completely missing my head.
I am still in some pain at the moment, but did not sustain major damage. The stadium staff was all freaked out and pretty much checked on me for the rest of the game, asking me if I needed anything. I told them that I was all right but that having taken a bat to the back, I sure would like to be able to take a bat home as a souvenir.
So now I am the proud owner of an authentic Frederick Keys minor league cracked bat. I will post pics on FB in the morning. All's well that ends well, though. I have a welt on my back but Baby Violet is cuddled safe and sound in her crib, sleeping peacefully with her Duffy Bear.

Since I'm going to spend this summer running around the province from small town to small town, I've decided to get my RPG fix by running a D&D 4th Edition online/via Skype campaign once per week at some time yet to be determined. Some of my usual D&D group will be joining up but I'd like some more players on top of just them.
If any of you are interested in joining up, let me know!
