Fun4All - Ypsilanti, MI
3773 Carpenter Road (near Target and Meijer)
Thursdays at 6:30 PM
January 29, 2015
400 points
Silver Age(Modern Age rules apply, except all non-bystander Golden Age-legal figures are allowed, and all coded maps are legal.)
I'm really going to try and make this. I have a soft spot for Silver Age. It will be tough to get there on time. Can you play modern age rules with characters from older sets? I only have about 25 but some of my favorite Silver Age are them.
Alright, I'm going to start posting events for Stadium Comics and Cards here (Ypsilanti, MI - 2061 Golfside Road, Ypsilanti, MI 48197).
We play Sundays at noon. And we've got the best damn events in the area.
Here's what we're playing this weekend:
Pym Particles Gone Wild!
300 point, Modern Age. Constructed. No resources.
At the beginning of each player's turn, that player rolls a D6 for each figure on his or her team. On a roll of 1-2, that figure now possesses the 'Tiny' damage symbol. On a roll of 3-4, they possess the 'Standard' damage symbol. On a roll of 5-6, they possess the 'Giant' damage symbol. This replaces whatever combat symbol is showing on their dial that turn and happens before any free actions or lines of sight are drawn on that turn.
The judge will provide players with tokens to help track the combat symbols.

There's no difference in the rules since you always use the latest rules. When I say "Modern Age rules apply," I mean the Modern Age build restrictions apply (except as noted).

At the risk of inciting a flame war: Stadium Comics (a local store that I like a helluva lot) can't provide objective evidence that they have the 'best damn' events in the area.
As some evidence to the contrary: At the War of Light event, players were turned away, and those who played had to pay money for Batman 2012 boosters. In contrast, Warriors Three offered two WoL boosters for each event, and at the month 6 event offered multiple boosters (at no additional cost to players) as the mulligan.
I don't want to take anything away from the cool cats that play at Stadium, but as a player who has altered his Sunday schedule to come out to play...I think there has been some overstatement.

Nope, no flame war at all. That did happen 1 month and no one was happy about it. If I remember correctly it was a combination if distribution problems and unfortunate scheduling. I'm recently taking over judging duties there and just felt like promoting our little shop with some hyperbole. I also think I make some pretty decent events...
According to WES Eternal games in Warren is having a 300 pt golden age 1/29/15. Can anyone confirm this? Last time I was there they said they weren't having an event. I believe that one was listed in WES 1/15/15 and as far as I know didn't happen. If not I'm going to try to get to Fun4all if I can get there in time. Between work, traffic and it being 54 miles away that will be a tall order.

Thursday is supposed to be a day of snow and freezing rain. I wouldn't go out of your way to make it this week, as ErebusShadow may end up cancelling the event.

Ann Arbor is a hike for me too. I'm building my collection. Going crazy lately. Just bought the original classic X-Men and most of the Spiderman set. Love Spideys villains. Hoping to play soon. Watching the weather news now. Everyone keep me posted on events. I want to get into this and experienced enough to play the Avengers tournaments.

the war of light snafu was out of Stadiums hands. they were allocated to one brick, and it came in late on a special order. There was only one op kit as well so there could only be 10 players. People were turned away from the main event but a side event was run for free with good prize support. The store can only offer what they get in. If distribution were better and the store received everything that they ordered then there would not have been an issue. I think that offering a free constructed event with great prize support for those not being able to play in the WoL was a great way to try and help a bad situation.

And where is the Vault located?
I'm not sure if you made it to Eternal or not, but we had 9 players show up and it was a lot of fun! This week is 400 Golden, No resources, Feats, or BFCs.

Awesome! I can make tomorrow. Just bought a bunch of clix from the Amazing Spiderman set. My collection is growing.
