jtallday- Jon I wouldn't challenge you if I wasn't sure you are wrong cuz I don't have that kind of energy.
maybe if you had quoted the whole thing you will understand that my point gets around yours one powerfull fig that takes up most of a team does not win in the team building stage againts a well thought out and rounded team i am firmly againts playing any fig over 150 points in a 300 point format simply because it never does well maybe in a few games yes but it will not win tourneyments i especially love unspoken teams they are so easy to overcome simply by starting your team members far apart and S/V at 300 is no guarentee of a win either

229 points dedicated to one 9 click fig with only toughness for reducers
that only leaves them 71 points what are they gonna do besides adding a couple cheap perplexs or prob im just gonna ram a close combat character in his face while my other two team members take out the support
what im trying to say is i think a 300point team should have more than two figs with at least 2 of them able to dish out damage after reducers

Ignatz's 200pt Supergirl (full IG)+ Beast Boy or Constantine team has beaten any number of teams in the current meta.
Personal preference is one thing; saying that certain team designs can't (or likely won't) win is something else.
On a completely separate note, I've had some good success with:
M10 Iron Man (r) 125 + IG w/Time Gem 15
CW Sharon Carter 45
CWFF Scarlet Witch (r) 50
AVM (Target) Hawkeye 65
Hawkeye with SHIELD and 3 perplexes at his disposal should scare a lot of these Batmen. Iron Man can hurt the heavy hitters, and has the IG in case someone's waiting to activate. Everyone in stealth is a nice little advantage as well.
How is Catwoman indomitable? Everyone deserves it before her, even Aunt May.

so im gonna out wit supergirls hss and her sm ally and then boom tube her onto running shot incap with psyblast with barda special damage power (yeah boom toob says ranged or close combat action so you can use psy blast or quake with it) and then barda is sitting on a 19 maybe 20dv depending on the batbelt roll then just start alternatly incapping with bats and gl pushing her each time no need for prob kill constatine with incap pushing damage and for kicks if any two of my character are next to each other supergirls range is only 6

This is flawed. You can't outwit HSS on Supergirl if she has a full gauntlet, also beast boy can outsiders you, taking away your 19 defense with two actions which leaves you as a low defense sitting duck with only a chance at impervious to save you.

ok so i outwit beast boys outsiders and go toe to toe with super girl shes got 11 move hypersonic after prep time i could choose the super senses click on the UB and then boom tube after clearing the next turn to within four of super girl and psyblast with a 13 attack after that its an uphill battle for super girl and i will have two incappers with indom or willpower and barda with indom so its still in the barda team favor and batman has normal out wit to use on any power beast boy might have that could be annoying plus this team has a fighting chance against other teams as well
ultimatly its all the die roll but a well rounded team has a distinct advantage over a team where someone went ....... well who would be the most powerfull person to put the gauntlet on and then lets see who we can squeeze onto the team

Inspired by reports of successful Batman teams sealed, I think that a completely resource-free team could be used successfully. I wouldn't be surprised if a player went "commando" with one of the following:

To an extent I think we are seeing this swirling roller coaster ride of mechanics. Barda is going to shake some things up right now. In the long run I don't think she will be as awesome as we think. She has the ability to land one major alpha strike. If that fails she is done.
The bat belt is going to change some things for high aggro teams. The question is what will be the response. Outsiders will be more common since we got a lot of them.
We can't forget capture is back and with good keywords. So there are multiple layers there.

This. You act like I won't be hiding beast boy until necessary to come out and use his TA. No solid player is just going to leave him sitting out there. But he is talking about the utility belts ability to counter a team ability.

first the UB with five objects attached grants the user a ow like ability to out wit TAs

if your referring to batman and green lantern they will be positioning for the turn batman in stealth somewhere likely after gl tks barda now with 20 dv out eight squares smack dab in the middle of the map taunting super girl and her 11 av to roll the 9 needed to hit so on and so forth im not gonna spell out the play by play im just saying super girl is not better than barda and barda is cheaper to play and that trait for extra dv with action tokens means she will have 19-20 dv for the two turns supergirl can attack her and even if they try to save it till barda has only 17 barda has imperv and ss as avoiders and bats and lantern both have decent range incap to slow her down
