It's a bit of "tooting my own horn" but I loved playing Tracer Bullet and posting in-character the entire thread....and surviving.

I am getting depressed about heroclix. It seems I wont be able to win Thanos unless I have a ridiculously expensive figure. First event was tonight and the only 3-0s were people who were running sentry/voids or chase thanos.

5th is open. Day was... a day. Ug.

I think without the aid of my son watching Super Hero Squad in the background, I wouldn't've gotten through the day.

Hm. It's been a while since I had to take a punch. Either I've gotten tougher than I thought since then, or the guy was even drunker than I thought.

Personally, I feel most of taking a punch is mental. (and thus, being prepared to get punched generally softens the blow)

Not much of one, I'm afraid. The contractor I'm working with just temporarily hired a new guy to drive oil trucks to replace the guy they fired for spewing a few tonnes of oil down a ditch and into some marsh. I ran into him and some of the contractor's other people after work getting drunk at the hotel and found him to be an absolutely typical entitled loudmouth, ordering people around as if he had any kind of authority.
He called me a pissant and I told him to get bent, but he's not the one who took a swing at me. Someone like him never would; he's all bark and no bite.

It was later, a while after he'd decided to bring this other guy to the bar and buy him some drinks, when I went in to see what was up. Some other guy called me a ######, so I told him he sounded interested and that he could suck my dick if he wanted. He got mad and punched me. Nothing terribly exciting though, he backed off when he saw I didn't run away screaming.

That is generally how it works.

I swear I'm not as much of a bitter ####### as I sound like in this story, I just have a very low tolerance for people who think they can push me around and I've survived enough to know that in most cases I can take more than what they can dish out.
