I always thought that Van Halen was the greatest cover band of all time.

One could make that argument about several groups, actually.

Quiet Riot comes to mind.

As a side note, it has always surprised me that for the number of Slade covers QR released they never (to the best of my knowledge) covered Slade's best song, Run Runaway.
