Superman, you dip, Superman! For years and years the highlights in Supes' (and all black-haired comics folk) were done in blue, so the hair wouldn't look like one black blob. For all I know they're still doing that, but I haven't read a new comic in so long I wouldn't know.
Yep, they're still doing that. Every char that has some black in his/her costume of hair has some blue tossed in. I would've used a dark grey or dark brown, but, that's just me and I'm no artist. One issue of Spidey with Venom surprised me because the cover had Venom on it with dark grey instead of blue and it looked a lot better then the normal blue additions.
Criss Angel as Mandrake??? NOOOOOO!!!!! Dear Schwartz in Heaven, what's next?? Some WWF steroid junkie as Doc Savage? Matthew McConaghuy as Aquaman? Frasier Crane as the Beast??

I see you forgot about Gandalf playing Magneto, or Captain Picard playing Professor X.
Also, I just read another thing about the Mandrake movie, and it states that Jonathan Rhys Meyers will play the role instead.
All I can say to that is;
"invovo legem magicarum"
What's wrong with Picard as Professor X? He has a lot of experience in sending young people into danger while he remains in his chair.
He's faking the cripple bit, he just doesn't want to go out and face any danger himself. This is shown in the movies, as he seems to lapse into a coma more often then not. It's all a ploy to keep from being hurt.
Name four current members of the Justice Society of America who are currently using a superheroic identity which was used by one of their parents.
For bonus points, find the Sheldon Mayer reference in this question. : )

When our story opens, the Question is investigating an impossible locked-room murder mystery involving a midget and a 6'6"-tall call girl into heavy bondage. Don't worry, I'll explain later. It's all vitally relevant.
--Alan Moore, Twilight
I can only think of three: Hourman, Liberty Belle, and Wildcat. As far as I know, Wesley Dodds wasn't Sandy Hawkins' parent; Citizen Steel and the current Amazing-Man are the grandsons of the originals, not the sons; and Black Canary isn't a current JSAer.
Okay, I admit: I thought the new Amazing-Man was the son of the "golden age" Amazing-Man.
I thought I still had one more - the Sheldon Mayer reference I mentioned. However, it appears Maxine Hunkel's aunt and uncle, Dinky and Sisty, were the Cyclone Kids, not her mother and father (I guess that's Huey and his wife?).
Thread's yours, Custom.
--I blame Geoff Johns. Though, I blame him for a lot of things.

I remember one issue of DC Comics Presents in the 80s where they tried using gray highlights for Superman's hair instead of blue. A lot of fans complained that Superman looked too old; one guy wondered if this were the Earth-Two Superman.

Could be now that it will be retconned into being just that.
