I'm thinking I'll raised the sealed games to 400 points. Normally I've always done 300, but this set just has so many big guns that people will want a higher point game so they can use more than 2 figures.
Probably a good idea. I'd suggest sticking to the 3-action allowance of the standard 300 pt build, though. It'll make Leadership and any JLA TA pieces a little flashier in the games, and one of the main reasons I think it's been said again and again that the game is optimized to be played at a 300 pt build has to do with the base number of actions. Allowing too much to casually occur on a single player's turn can really kill a match-up -- or at least that's how it has seemed to me.
Time blazes past me, as it does with all ancients, and I realize that my Ben Folds music catalog pretty much is '95 to '01. (I mean, really... there's part of me that still reflexively thinks of 1976's debut of Nova at Marvel as one of the new kids on Marvel's block.)
Nova #4 was my first comic book!

Reminds me of something I always say. Back when I was in the service my work was pretty hard on my body (particularly my shoulders, plus a knee injury) and my C.O. told me that I'll be in a lot of pain when I'm "older". When I thought "older", I thought it would be starting in my 60's plus...not when I was in my late 20's. LOL So to my saying: "It's not the years, it's the mileage."

There are elements of it that still really bug me, but it's telling that I found time to watch thirteen episodes in four days in between school and work.

I'm curious to see what you think about the "end" of Eva. As for anime you might want to try: Cowboy Bebop. Only 26 Episodes (and a movie which takes place somewhere in the mid-20-ish episodes) and just awesome. Great music throughout as well! Been an anime fan for a long time and it ranks among the very best for me. I'd also suggest Witch Hunter Robin for something a little different. It's more about mood and atmosphere. This being said, I only watch anime in Japanese as dubs can get a bit messed up when dealing with cultural references...except for Bebop. It has an exceptional English cast/dub.
And finally: About the Ben Folds Five talk...I couldn't name a song other than those mentioned in this thread (only because they were mentioned here). It's not that I dislike him/them. Just never really heard their stuff other than anything that might have been played on the radio/in movies/etc...

I'm personally against raising the point total.
It always seems like a good idea at the start and it always goes wrong after it's done.
On behalf of all who don't want to feel dreadfully out of the loop: "We've seen a set poster?"
I'm talking about the poster that was the advertisement for the set. There was no poster that had every character available and pictures of sculpts like the GSX poster. I'm talking about the one that showed that the Robot Superman was going to be the BIBTB, Flash, Lex, Wildfire, etc.
(Kind of like the Hulk one that just came out a bit ago.)

With 50years of experiance under your belt I thought youd figure it out.
I'm not 50! And according to the current thread trend; I'm 20!
I wasn't sure what you were talking about. People are always taking about fiction properties that I dont' know about. I thought it was one of those.
I figured that you weren't talking about Lobot since he has a PSP wrapped around the back of his head and Doomsday doesn't. So I thought it must be someone else.

For whatever reason he doesn't seem to fit mainstream play. I've found his lyrics to be clever, often writing from his own bad days and disappointments in himself and others, though happy and hopeful bits come through along with blends that manage to convey nostalgia even if I haven't had some of those exact experiences. I like his voice - it's far from perfect and it doesn't try to be, which (for me) amplifies the sincerity.
Maybe it's something as simple as it not being music written for people to dance to. For me that's a major plus for it, but I know that (repulsive) dance stations are often some of the highest-rated ones in a given market.
While it initially struck me as odd that he hadn't made a major connection with movie music it hit me a moment later that most of his songs (again, I'm drawing on what he produced between 1995 & 2001, owning nothing of what he's done since) tell their own stories.

When they did it, though, did they automatically raise the number of actions to 4? It seems like a small thing, but I think it's significant.
Other than that, though, much depends on the contents of the set. The only reasons for not raising it would seem to me to be:
If there are enough low-point pieces at the CUR levels that one of the players might be able to open two boosters and still not quite be able to reach the full build.
There are one or more pieces in the set - almost certainly at the SR or chase level - that weren't designed for the normal game, and so were costed above 300 pts. Allowing Cosmic Spidey into a sealed format would have been a real problem. Of course, IMHO it's not a piece that should have been made, but the game isn't built to please me exclusively.

It's your studied rage that's throwing people. It's all that Dark Knight Returns vibe you're giving off...

There's that latent 50 year-old raising his cane again.

Gotcha. The ad. I just had a specific idea -- the entire set, in order, aside from chase elements -- in mind whenever anyone refers to a "set poster." I miss those being in the cases, though not as much as there being a map in there...

I'll have to dig some of his stuff up. I listen to, literally, a little of everything so I don't see why he won't fit right in on my MP3 player.

Emphasis mine. I think you answered your own question with that one. The public doesn't want clever, they want repetitive drivel that can be commercialized as it gets stuck in your head and associated with products.
