Actually, I'm not sure it was Commando Cody that I remember after all, because the character I remember flew around in bulky armor similar to the original Iron Man look and after Wikiing Commando Cody he didn't wear anything like that.

I'm liking more than I'm not what I see in the new Gladiator, but they should have either given him a longer range (5?!) or Sharpshooter. A 5 range and RCE feels like wasted points to me. I don't mind a lack of Indomitability, but I continue to mind "I'm as defenseless as a bunny!" clicks of Regeneration showing up on characters who should still have some resistance to damage. (It would also help considerably if they finally revamped Regeneration into a more reliable power.)

The defensive powers' naming is fun, especially as one considers that his powers are dependent upon his self-confidence:

I CANNOT BE DEFEATED (Impervious)
I WILL NOT BE DEFEATED (Invulnerability)
I MUST NOT BE DEFEATED (Toughness)
... though instead of BACK TO THE BATTLE (Regeneration) I'd suggest one of the following:
I WAS ONLY FOLLOWING ORDERS!
NOT IN THE FACE! NOT IN THE FACE!
AW SH--!

Well, I think it was indeed Commando Cody, the character I regard as the original Rocketeer.

IIRC, to cash in on the market for space-themed kid shows on TV, Republic recycled footage from their Rocketman serials and shot new footage with Judd Holdren as Commando Cody, a masked man in an outfit that reminded me of the Golden Age Citizen V.

But he donned the Rocketman helmet and rocket pack on his back with chest controls when taking to the air --- as in the serials.

The guy I remember seemed to have a bulky suit that made him look like a robot.

I take a look in and I feel like I should have brought some of that Russel Stover's candy with me my grandmother always seemed to like. Her favorite TV show was Married With Children. So I don't know that this would be the conversation she would have had.

So I was walking through the base Exchange at Scott AFB and cruised through the area with paperbacks. For some reason the section for adolescent girls caught my eye. There was a book that essentially was the adventures of Snooki. A fictional novel where the character you were to identify with was Snooki.

Snooki was the person in the book that you were expected to root for in whatever goofball adventure they'd cooked up for her.

Snooki, who's general claim to fame is to be a falling down drunk, attention #####.

This is what we offer our little girls as literature.

Oh well. I guess it's no different then people who think Bendis, Loeb and Liefeld are quality storytellers..

On another note, I think my grandaughter is starting to mimic the mannerisms of Sid the Science Kid. She moves her like that kid does and her walk seems similar.

Haven't watched MTV in a while have you? I think it exemplifies everything that is wrong with our country.

I don't even catch it channel surfing.

Then consider yourself among the blessed. I can remember my parents lamenting the fact I would watch MTV all the time. This was back when they actually showed music videos. Maybe I'll have to ask them what they think of MTV now compared to what it was back then.

Probably would come across as a documentary on the arts in comparison.

I find Jersey Shore to be very entertaining.

Like watching a train wreck I know. I've found it difficult to look away at times myself.

So I'm doing some things in my Cosmic Rumble story that might be confusing to some people. It's essentially an ongoing Heroclix soap opera. No characters are going to show up that haven't been clixed. (Well except for the Dungeons and Dragons that I threw in to spite people who think that stuff shouldn't be mixed with superheroes.)

However, a lot of characters that have been clixed won't show up. If I don't care much for the characters (Think Liefeld creations or the Sentry & Red Hulk) they're not likely to turn up. I'm using the only Liefeld character I like already.

For one thing, Wolfsbane and Boom Boom have shown up and I'm treating them as New Mutants and completely ignoring the X-Force nonsense.

Also, I'll be introducing Hank McCoy soon and no way in Hell is he gonna be the lion king version.

Also Hawkman is there and since I still have hopes for a Katar Hol version, this Hawkman is the Earth 2 version rather then the one that coexisted with Earth 1 heroes.

Actually my Marvel characters are from Earth 615 and the DC characters are from Earth 53 and in Hawkman's case, Earth 54.

So things like that are probably confusing to the few that are following my story.

No doubt Jerry Springer has a certain appeal to you as well.
