*high five* You and me both. He was funny in small doses. He is neither an interesting enough character to warrant his own book or to be in multiple books.

You know what I have found helps my love of Deadpool? I don't read any of his books. I love him for what he was 15 years ago when I was reading the X titles. All my opinions of him are based on that, and that is why I find I can still love him.
Not bad. I'ma pair up the Marvel Zombies with Successful Dirk and give 'em all Warbound, with Auto Regen on Dirk. Gonna be fun!
That would be good, but I try to play softer teams for my players in their bye-rounds. I'm more just looking for something fun rather than trying to trounce them. I might bring candy for the kiddies too.

Right now, Lobo is the funny Deadpool. He appears only occasionally and nobody has time to get bored with him. Lobo was great in 52. He immediately stops being entertaining when he gets an ongoing series.

I agree with much of your stream of consciousness here, but I think it missed the whole point of my post.
What? That two-year olds don't belong on debate teams?
My point in my "stream of consciousness" (Comparing me, in any way, to Virginia Wolf if punishable by death!) was to show how someone can like something in a way that goes beyond average and then be rightfully annoyed when people jump on the bandwagon and like the same thing in a shallow way.
I can see where SLVR is coming from and you're saying that his logic in the case is like that of a two-year old.
True: if someone says "I don't like that because it's popular", they are probably some adolescent goth kid. Especially if the only criteria is that it's popular.
But, when something is popular, it can be a pretty good indication that it's banal. The largest portion of the population isn't the smartest.
Also, you can dislike having something shoved down your throat even if it isn't actually popular. There have been many overdone annoying commercial campaigns that everyone hated having shoved down their throat.
Remember that guy you were supposed to find at Burger King?

Hulked-Out Heroes #1 and 2 are my favorite Deadpool appearances to date. He just comes across as abrasively ADD in general, which is not fun for me to read.

I guess I don't see *anything* being shoved in people's faces and them being asked to like it, at least in the comics world.
And with the breakdown of the Top 40 radio format and a zillion ways to access music, I don't see it there, either. You could make the case back when Top 40 dominated teh airwaves and Walkmans (men?) were exotic and expensive.

See, I look at it a different way: my sometimes knee-jerk distaste of certain things is directly relative to the types of fans (that I've personally met) of those things.
Vague example: I think it is safe to say that we all know and/or are that one guy who REFUSES to let someone say "I don't like ::INSERT FAVORITE BAND HERE::." I've personally run into this phenomena with fans of Dave MAtthews Band, Phish, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, Jimmy Buffet, etc. When I voice my dislike (usually in very rational terms, unless we're talking about Buffet/Marley, in which case my argument amounts to "!@#$ that guy"), what ensues is a 30 - 40-minute conversation about how I'm wrong for not liking said bands. I would/do also engage in this sort of discussion rationally.
However, after a while, I want to say "Y'know why I really hate ::BLANK::? Because PEOPLE LIKE YOU LIKE ::BLANK::!"
Specific example: I must have had a dozen doe-eyed, filled-to-the-brim-with-personal-baggage, drama geek girls literally shove the RENT soundtrack (or at least earphones conveying same) into my ears. When I said, "Yeah, not my thing," you'd swear that I'd murdered all innocence and happiness in their lives.
