It's kinda like getting a root canal - you have to deal with it, but you know that it's gonna be a pain to the bitter end.
Oh well. I've done all of the prep work and have my materials lined up, so it's all systems "go". Time to go be a rock star.

As for the after 5PM rule, what's the mentality behind that, if you don't mind sharing?
Stan, I still get all of my basic food groups (dairy, meat, vegetable, fruit, and grain). I've just further cut out the nutritionally lacking. No more potatoes, breading...
I finish my work outs around 5 and have my protein shake (which has some carbs in it). However, at this point, I am going to be resting, so I don't need as many carbs for energy since I won't be physically active for much longer. I try to go to bed around 8:30 pm or so since I have to get up at 3:30 am. By minimizing my carb intake at night, I have less chance to convert the carbs into sugar (which then gets converted into fat and stored).
