Heh. I have introduced the wife to Battlestar Galactica and she is hooked. Having watched the pilot, I think she might be taking the rest of the day off work to complete the first season. When you don't have cable, shows that aired a decade ago are still new to you.

The last one I watched, "Blood and Chrome" was still pretty awesome, even if it was a prequel with a young Bill Adama. (The Caprica TV series was also good, but in a very different manner, given its many depressing themes.)

Hey, I do believe Kenny said Truffle would be maid of honor at the wedding.
You can probably be a bridesmaid too though - I bet you and Truffle would look absolutely lovely in matching dresses.

Did you tell her the series ended after season 2?
I think that's the polite thing to do.
I was debating trying to go to Brazil this year, but from all accounts, Brazil just isn't ready.
Yup, World Cup. Me, my spouse, and my parents. It's still in the "remote chance in hell" category right now, but I'm starting to set aside funds.

I'm just watching the series for the first time and I'm halfway through season 3. Doesn't seem that bad in relation to the other two seasons. Dare I ask why it stinks(keep spoilers to a minimum if you could)?
I liked the Season 3 Finale of BSG primarily because of Bear McCreary's version of All along the Watchtower and how it tied into the story, that song was fantastic, Season 3 picked up a little bit after they got off the farm, I mean New Caprica, then Season 4. I think Fat Apollo was the point I really stopped watching the show because it was good and just was watching it to get to the end.

I think it was more mediocre than anything, they begin to stagnate and aside from the finale the whole season does little to advance the overall plot of the show. Additionally, I find Gaius unbearable, and the fact that he took on a larger role annoyed me. I never really got what they were trying to accomplish with the character so it's probably a failing in my DNA for not liking him.
Aaaw yeah!! That's what I'm talking about, bitcthes!!!! LOL!!!!

Don't listen to the haters and go in with an open mind. That's the best thing to do - and the LESS you know, the better the pay off. So say we all.

Some friends at Board game night really talked the whole series up while we played the board game. Since I watch movies all day at work, I figured I could squeeze it in. I'm enjoying it rather well. Bunch of flawed characters and good storylines.

I will do that. I was really hoping the World Cup would be in the US in 2022, but everyone on the voting committee had a stroke and put it in Qatar. So Russia it is. My wife has been there before and loves the historical sights and my parents want to go since we're kind of soccer crazy in the family. So here's hoping(my kids don't need college funds right?)

I hear you, man. We are watching Breaking Bad now. And while I'm not really digging it, I like spending time with the wife. Maybe she'll let me pick the show next.

That weekend was a blast. I still wish I'd stayed over Saturday night.

Why? I thought the whole series was solid. I even liked the ending.

How far are you into it? It does pick up pretty well later. Plus I think you'd look very Heisenberg in a porkpie hat.
