For the next one I'm debating about throwing out the mafia aspects altogether.
My idea is to combine elements of DnD, Heroclix, and riddles/events to create a new game. I've done this in my previous games, at least some elements, but this time they'd be the main focus.
So here's my thought.
The theme would be ancient explorers and seafarers searching out new lands, fighting pirates and sailing on great ships.
I want to capture the feel of Pirates of the Caribbean or Treasure Island, more of an adventure feel.
You have Heroclixesque figures that you move across a map and are confronted with certain events. You have certain stats and powers (like I did in the previous Hybridity game). You need to win battles, solve riddles and find treasure.
I'm thinking there will still be day and night phases, except they are on a schedule and nothing happens during the night phase except I make the writeups.
Or the game could just be open all the time.
Could be a point system, could be a survival system, etc, not sure.
But I'm open to ideas.
I'd recommend reading the rules for something like Dark Moon and maybe try to check out an Arkham Horror game.
Beyond that, I'm in for more Hybridity. Regardless of what the set-up looks like ultimately.
