Wasn't Jason beaten to a bloody pulp, blown up, and buried? I haven't read anything recent in Batman after Hush, but how are they even hinting he could be back?
In the Hush storyline they said the Lazarus Pit had brought him back, but I don't think even that would bring Jason back, no? What are they suggesting this time? Reincarnation? Aliens? Time travel? Voodoo?
But I have the sense to recognize that I don't know how to let you go...

Well, the used a Lazarus Pit to bring back the long dead JLA in the recent Superman/Batman story arc. So there is an instance where they deem it possible to do just that.
1/6th of the Brothers Prob. '19-'20 Season: 15-13(8 events) 2 wins, 2nd XDPS PR 9-7, 7th SOC
Actually Batman said he wanted to do it. But didn't see a point because his brain was bashed in so badly . The reason they are actually having us think it is Jason Todd is because his grave is missing. Or was it ever there to begin with
I remember reading Wizard (I think) and Metzer said DC gave him a list of characters that he could kill off. Countdown will probably off more than one.
Originally posted by sluggo Please, killing off Blue Beetle is like Marvel killing off North Star (another red-hairing that pissed me off), really, who cares?
actually, likening BB to a "red HERRING" would mean that his death (if it actually IS BB) was meant to throw the DCU heroes off the trail of a larger mystery, which is very possible. However, the cover of the Countdown issue makes this death the focal point of the event.
My question is, why those specific characters on the cover? Is the person in Batman's hands somehow tied into these specific characters? Is it some sort of a clue, or is this collection of heroes just a "red herring"?
and I do care that Northstar was killed, just like I would care about Beetle, if it is indeed him.

If you look at the cover of Batman #638, the reflection on the red mask looks pretty feminine. It actually kinda looks like Talia's sister, Nyssa.

Isn't Arsenal Green Arrow's kid? Doesn't Slade have a grudge with Ollie (Stabbed Slade in the bad eye with an arrow? Seems to me Deathstroke is administering some payback
Catering to the lowest common denominator since Feb 2003.
Blue Beetle is the guy who's dying in this story, guys. It's not Arsenal. Read the preview in Wizard.

Originally posted by Darth Sabre Again, not a comparison. But I have read many things, including interviews from people from Marvel, who basically said that Secret Wars was essentially thrown to gether, so that they too could have a big event. They already knew that DC was coming out with Crisis, and wanted something to compete with it. Marvel published theirs first, but it was in response to what DC was putting out.
This may be so, but "Marvel Super Heroes Secret War" was also done to promote Marvel's new toyline that came out right at this time.

Which was put out to duplicate the success of ... that's right, DC's toy line that had been released a year or so earlier.

OK let see.....Bringing Jason Todd a slap in the face. Hmmm
Jean Grey lets kill her this month and bring her back next month.
Hawkeye ...Busiek has already said he is going to be in the Thunderbolts eventually
Psylocke would someone explain this #### to me please
The difference is the FANS voted to have Todd killed, they/we spoke out and said "We do not want this character in our Batman books". The other examples you brought up are just bad story telling.
Theres only one Return, and it ain't of the King, its of the Jedi.
