This was a neat game to follow - two major teams coming together to form one big Avengers fiesta. In a nice addition, the teams comprise most of my favorite Avengers, so it was a fun "Best of..." for me. Good job, you guys - that competition was pretty fierce.
The Avengers: 108 TXP, 1 TAP
E Captain America (IC) (47)* 9 IXP
R Thor (CT) (109)** 35 IXP, 1 IAP
R Wasp (IC) (24) 5 IXP
R Black Panther (IC) (27) 8 IXP
R Black Knight (FF) (54) 5 IXP, 2 IAP
E Tigra (FF) (46) 4 IXP, 3 IAP
R She-Hulk (CT) (59) 3 IXP, 2 IAP
*Armor Piercing
**Haymaker
Upgrades & Recruitments.
TXP: 108
1. Upgrading R Thor (CT, 109) to E Thor (CT, 144). Cost 35 TXP, 35 IAP for Thor
108 - 35 = 73 TXP. 35 - 35 = 0 IXP (Thor).
2. Using the trade out option to trade out E Tigra (FF, 46) for R Hercules (IC, 54).
Difference is 8 points so cost is 16 TXP.
(effectively selling tigra for 92 TXP, then buying Herc for 108 TXP)
73 - 16 = 57 TXP
3. WakandaMan bought Panther up to full, I will be keeping him as a reserve. Net Gain of 27 TXP.
57 + 27 = 84 TXP
4. Recruiting E Black Widow (CT, 41) as a Reserve. Cost is 41 TXP.
84 - 41 = 43 TXP.
That's all for right now. I ay choose to buy a feat still but have to wait till DKnights around again.
For next arc:
The Avengers: 43 TXP, 1 TAP
E Captain America* (IC) (47) 9 IXP
E Thor** (CT) (144) 1 IAP
R Wasp (IC) (24) 5 IXP
R She-Hulk (CT) (59) 3 IXP, 2 IAP
R Black Knight (FF) (54) 5 IXP, 2 IAP
R Hercules (IC) (54) 0 IXP
*Armor Piercing
**Haymaker
Reserves:
R Black Panther (IC) (27) 8 IXP (Counts as 14 points)
E Black Widow (CT) (41) 3 IAP (Counts as 21 points)
Total: 417 points.
417 rounds to 450, halved is 225 + 50 = 275 Squad Size.
Not too bad overall. The old order changed a bit but I'm happy with it. Next arc there won't be as many changes, I'll focus on upgrades as I hope to have Cap, Wasp, and Black Knight ready to upgrade by then. It'll be a ways till Jocasta and Warbird.
I unfortunately do not have enough TXP to recruit Tigra, and she was the least expensive of the characters i want, so i am recruiting no-one [sigh].
My possibilities for upgrading right now are also almost non-existent.
I will upgrade Scarlet Witch from the Rookie version in Fantastic Forces (35 points) to the Experienced versiono from Infinity Challenge/Universe (36 points).
This costs 1 of her IXPs and one TXP.
(I probably won't ever play the E Scarlet Witch from Infinity Challenge, as the Rookie from Fantastic Forces is -- quite simply -- better; but still, i at least now have the option.)
Hence, my team after the upgrade: WCAvengers Totals after Annual Training Iron Man (Rookie Xplosion 117) 16 IXPs and 2 IAPs Wonder Man (Rookie Mutant Mayhem 97) 9 IXPs and 1 IAP Scarlet Witch (Experienced Infinity Challenge/Universe 36) 1 IXP Hawkeye* (Rookie Clobberin' Time 29) 8 IXPs
*with Trick Shot Ant-Man (LE Infinity Challenge 43) 1 IXP
Team: – 71 TXPs, 3 TAPs
My team total points: 322.
Calculating my squad size, I round this up to 350 / 2 = 175 + 50 = 225.
I present the WCAvengers squad for Issue #4:
R Wonder Man 97
R Scarlet Witch (Fant Forces) 35
LE Ant-Man 43
R Hawkeye* (Cl Time) 29
*with Trick Shot 20
===> 224 points
Seeing as i do not have enough TXP to recruit Tigra, who will be my next recruit, I would like to use 20 TXP to acquire the feat 'Armor Piercing' for Scarlet Witch. This has already been cleared with DKnight editorially.
Hence, here's my team with the slight addendum:

Loki lay weakly on the ground, with a look the arrow in his chest turned to smoke and dissipated. Now he just needed that fool Skurge to hold out a while longer…There was a sudden cry and then silence. Blast it, why was he surrounded by incompetents and weaklings? Just then a large shadow fell upon him, and he looked up in to the enraged face of his hated step-brother.
“Now Loki, I shall have my satisfaction!” roared the thunder god.
“I think not oaf,” said Loki with a sly grin, pulling a pair of gems from a belt pouch.
“By my fathers beard! The twins of the gods? Where didst thou find them base villain? Return them at once, their powers are not meant to be trifled with!” demanded Thor, though there was a nervous quality to his voice.
“I say thee nay cur! I go now, to plot your destruction again!” laughed Loki.
“Yes Loki, let us away!” laughed the Enchantress.
“Bah, why should I take fools such as you? Loki leaves you to your fate!” taunted the god of mischief.
As he went to leave Malekith, Lorelei and the Enchantress all cast spells upon him.
“We leave together or not at all Loki,” cackled Malekith.
“Fools! The power of the twins is not to be unbalanced, their might could destroy us all!” Cried out the trickster in alarm. There was a terrible explosion as Loki channeled excess energy away. “Spared us, but barely. Now we away, all of us.”
The air crackled with static electricity and then the villains were gone.

Iron Man surveyed his troops, well pleased with how they had performed. There was always the fear of being viewed as the Avengers reserves, like they were somehow not quite as good, but to his mind they had performed every bit as well as their sister team. He watched as Captain America did his rounds, helping the Black Knight to his feet.
"You fought well son. I'm sorry you and Miss Walters’s interviews got cut short. Perhaps we can reschedule sometime? We may need your help again sometime,” the star spangled Avenger told the Knight with a smile.
"Actually Captain, “ Black Panther grunted as he walked over holding his side, "You may need him and She-Hulk sooner than you think. I'm afraid I have some business that will keep me away from the Avengers for a while."
The Wasp smiled "That's ok. Come back whenever you can. You'll be welcome. Once an Avenger, always an Avenger."
"Thor is afraid that he too must leave for a time, I have been away from Asgard too long. I must inform all-father Odin of Loki’s deeds and ask his wisdom in seeking out the vile trickster.”
Before Cap could speak up Tigra butted in "Me too I'm afraid Cap. I have some...... business to take care of and don't know when I'll be back."
"I see.." Captain America said in surprise. "Well good luck to all of you, but for now we should concentrate on getting home and recovering."
Thor nodded and began to twirl his mighty hammer before bringing it down with a mightly crash of thunder. When the light receded they were all back at the mansion, minus Thor.
Iron Man offered his hand to Cap who shook it readily.
“A pleasure working with you shellhead,” beamed the living legend, “you’re welcome anytime at Avengers headquarters.”
Iron Man gave him a small salute, “and you’re welcome anytime at headquarters West Captain.”
With that the West coasters left, the fact that Tigra left with them wasn’t lost on Cap. “Well of all the…,” Cap was not a man to cuss, but if he was the air would have been blue. He left the room in an uncharacteristically dark mood.
Black Knight and She-Hulk exchanged a glance, realizing that this team they had befriended needed their help a lot. They both knew they could hardly refuse. It was somehow in their blood. They were destined to be...... Avengers
In the pocket dimension a hole had been made, so small that it was invisible to the naked eye. The hole was not like a normal one, which leads between two places, but one that led to three. The pocket realm, the Earth dimension and somewhere…elsewhere. It was growing…
Stay tuned for more adventures of the Avengers, East and West coast, continuing Nov 1st!
I was extremely pleased with the team-up annual issue, glad that the Avengers could win, and enjoyed myself immensely. I was wrapped up in each move and turn, considered options and possibilities. Thank you DKnight, Vance and DM!
I'm not terribly upset that my team is developing slowly; it allows me more time to look into each character. Besides, i have a bunch of new Iron Man dials i'm eager to try out! First, though, i need to get my hands on the physical figs, and that's why i'm not playing Iron Man in the next issue (Armor Wars won't be available until mid-November ;-)).
So.... Tigra departed with 'us,' eh? I wonder why she couldn't be straightforward with the good Captain?...
