Can I make a range combat attack, or Is Steaming Knuckle still considered my enemy

If you roll odd on your roll, he is your enemy. If you roll even, he is your ally for those purposes. Hence why I attacked Heru instead of the N Kane with my last turn.

A small speck of dust landed on the top of Vladimir's ear, and whispered the motivating thoughts of a madman, "That man is evil, and you are the golden sentinel. You've promised the hierarchy that you will destroy any singular threat to this world. You must kill him, Sentinel. You have no other choice."

"I apologize, but I have no choice...."

Vladimir looked at Steaming Knuckle, and sighed. The Golden Sentinel summoned a golden stream of light which crackled around The Steaming Knuckle’s stomach. However, the light failed to do any damage, as SK, dodges the magical attack.

Story: "Brother, where art thou?"

Brian rose above the bush, looking down at Brisk. He held up one arm of flame, and another crackling with lightning. He pulled back, then seemed stunned for a moment, staring at Timeline for a moment.

'He... that...'

Brian shook himself slightly, then turned back to his quarry.

"He may say he'd never let you get hurt, but that he would hurt you. I share the same sentiment. Except for the first part.... so goodbye."

He held his arms high, and power arced around, and he aimed to Brisk. Everything blasted forward, and Brisk's piddly wind shield did nothing to stop the attack. He tried to scream as his body burned away, but there was no time. The fires picked him clean, and his dry, brittle skeleton was all that remained on the charred, grassless earth.

Heru went to work on his repairs quickly and efficiently, when the other Heru's transmission distracted him. He was unsure if this was some sort of trick by the duplicates, so he didn't answer right away... he needed to take some time to formulate his answers...

Kane gripped at the pendant under his jacket, standing up with renewed vigor.

"So, we've got enemies that think I'm someone you can mock? I can tell you're not me, given I'm me. Good night, gracey."

He squeezed the trigger of Revenge II and lightning blasted out, the other Greyfeather sizzling and falling to the ground. Kane grinned, then seemed to get even happier as he saw his old ally charge into the bushes and heard his duplicate's cries of pain. Normally he wouldn't rejoice so much at someone's misfortune, but this was a mockery of himself... it wasn't a person.

The Golden Sentinel grabbed Timeline, then whipped around the corner of a bush before anyone else could blink. He chanted a quick spell, but then he felt... something... horrible, and it disrupted the spell, leaving Jezebel unharmed. The Sentinel ran, trying to recover from whatever had happened that had confused him so much...

Michael stopped his muttering, then turned to Brisk.

"You hate me, don't you?! You laugh when I'm not watching you! I know!"

Brisk looked at his teammate, confused.

"Me? I don't hate..."

"DON'T LIE TO ME!"

Mindbender started pulling the cubes out of his bag, forming them into one massive cube and bringing it over Sean, who started to run. Michael laughed madly, then threw the block wildly toward his 'ally', slamming him hard in the head and dropping him to the ground, slamming the block into him a few more times just to make sure. The cube returned, and Michael looked around wildly.

Kane's auto regen kicks in, he rolls 4 for 2 clicks of healing. His scenario roll is 2. He shoots at S Kane. 11 AV vs 16 (+1). Needs 6, rolls 7. Kane takes 2 clicks.

The Golden Sentinel rolls a 2 on scenario. He grabs Timeline and HSSes down to K-5. Hello Jezebel. Misses with a 4. He flies off to M-5 and sets Timeline down in M-4.

Jezebel rolls another 2 on scenario. I guess that means it'd be fun to outwit Heru's willpower.

Steaming Knuckle rolls a 6 on scenario, so he'll charge to Q-7 to attack Kane. 12 AV vs 10 DV, needs a not critical miss, rolls 9. Kane takes 3 clicks.

Sean rolls a 5 on scenario, so he'll try to run... breakaway is a 6. So off to O-8.

The battle was starting to sway in a definite direction. His allies were working together and mounting a powerful assault. Rotating his vision to the far end of the battlefield, Gigawatt speid two of his foes trying to combat each other. He couldn't believe his luck.

'With those two busy trying to destroy each other,' he thought, powering up his weapons systems, 'they should be easy targets."

He sped forward, leaving Jezebel to take care of herself. Her training was among the best in the world, she would be fine without a robotic babysitter.

He focused his twin arm cannons at his foes and let forth a violent burst of energy. At it closed the distance between Gigawatt and his targets, the blast widened and arced outward. The duo looked up from their scrap just in time to see the energy that coursed through their bodies only an instant later.

Gigawatt could feel the satisfaction growing within him. 3 of his foes had been taken out of the fight, and almost all of his remaining enemies had wounds of their own to worry about. With the damage he had just unleashed upon these two, Gigawatt hoped to see this war come to and end very soon.

"We have them on the run," the robot boomed with pride. "The faster we continue our assault, the sooner we end this skirmish. Any assistance that can be spared for these two would be appreciated. To hell with divide and conquer. Let's wipe them out one by one!"

He knew the others wouldn't be accustomed to hearing him bark orders, after all that was usually reserved for Kane. However, he didn't want to see this opportunity slip away. They were going to win! Nothing could stop them now...




ACTION: Scenario roll is a 4. Gigawatt performs a running shot to K-21 targeting the Golden Sentinel and Steaming Knuckle with energy explosion. Attack roll is a 9 (3,6). 11+9=20, so both are hit and each takes 2 damage. Neither character is knocked back however, as one had charge and the other was in hindering terrain.

Steaming Knuckle's Skrull roll was a 4 BTW

Story: The Knuckle stopped swinging at Vladmir, noticing a far more likely enemy there who had attacked both of them... maybe this Golden Sentinel was not his enemy. It was known for sure, however, that Gigawatt was an enemy. He rushed him and prepared for combat, holding his hands in a guarding position.

The other Steaming Knuckle stepped on Kane's chest, pinning him down.

"I'm sorry, you're next in line for the vapor punch. You said goodbye to your little friends?"

Weakly, Kane pulled his weapon's trigger and knocked the martial robot off his feet for a moment, then he weakly chuckled.

Story: The situation appeared to be getting worse, brothers attacking each other and people attempting to kill his duplicate. The effects of the environment were slowing his movements, dulling his thinking. The entire effect was as if the world itself was a trap, threatening to collapse.

Images flashed before his eyes, purple spirals of twisting energies. Horrific beasts formed themselves from the chaos, before dissolving back into the gloom. Nothing remained certain for long in that place. Energies seared the space; the nether realm was filled with a thousand nightmares.

The images were replaced with a superficially calm scene. A spread of spread parts, a splash of spilled hydraulic fluid, and a partially built robot were scattered across a collection of rooms and halls. A group of robots stood over what now became apparent as to its true form, a scene of great carnage. They walked away from their work, a giant with powerful limbs, a smaller one armed with wicked looking daggers, and others, which were difficult to see through the rising haze.

Snapping back to reality, Heru realized that somehow he was seeing what occurred in another time, whether the future or the past Heru could not determine. One thing that suddenly hit him with the force of a shell firing from the twins was that one form was recognizable, their new “ally”. Even more now the realization that his allies were not to be trusted came over Heru.

No response from his duplicate had yet arrived, but Heru decided that it was the best avenue of solving the conundrum of the battle.

“I don’t know what you are thinking, if you are what I think you are you are confused as to who your true allies are. The only thing that you are capable of being sure of is that I am not on your side. You also should have waking dreams and memories of a time in the past where terrible things can be seen. I believe we could be in another dimensional trouble. I propose that we meet soon; otherwise it might be too late. Since I have done nothing to cause you to trust me, I will drop one of my weapons.”

Heru held out his recently constructed Beam sword and tossed it away. It cracked open as it hit, hopelessly damaged for the time being.

Action: Heru clears and throws away his beam sword(Losing CCE for the remainder of the battle at least).

Seeing the outline of the Golden Sentinel and Timeline in the bush, she knew it had to be the enemy. To be sure, she took their heat signatures.
Oh, it was the bad guys all right.
Whipping out a grenade, she carefully judged the distance between her and her foes. They wouldn't expect this.
Tossing it gently, so its noise was almost unheard, it landed beside her enemies. Covering her ears, she watched it explode, setting fire to the nearby bush and scorching her villains.

Story: Timeline watches Steaming Knuckle run over to Kane, landing in a powerful blow to his ally. "You little..." As he starts to take after the Steaming Knuckle, he sees himself in the arms of Vladimir, flying around the area before taking rest in a nearby shrubbery. "What the..." Timeline stops his pursuit of Steaming Knuckle for the moment. He thinks "Kane and Heru will have to take care of him at this point. Mercy needs help or she's done for. If that is me up there, who knows what kind of tricks my nasty little mind will come up with." He rattles the chains a bit to try to get Golden Sentinel's attention. "Hey, Vladimir... Did your precious little dust speck warn you about me?" Timeline sends the chains hurtling towards Vladimir, the sounds of the blades slicing the air with their velocity. "Surely the all knowing Du-" Timeline's response is cut short as Vladimir waves his hand gently in front of the chains, causing them to cease the forward momento. The chains fall lifelessly to the ground, no longer responding to Timeline. He looks at the chains as they finally start to withdraw back into him. "What the hell is... I don't understand... Nothing I do is working at all..."

Story: Jezebel noticed something fishy to her right, so decided her best course of action against Mindbender would be to stun him to deal with the more dangerous threat... Gigawatt. Jezebel rolls a 3 on scenario. She outwits Mindbender's willpower, then sets her sights on Gigawatt. 10 AV vs 16 DV, needs 6 rolls 6. (With doubles, in case this weren't low gravity). Giggy takes 2, and takes no knockback because the Knuckle holds him still.

Timeline rolls a 2 on scenario. I guess this one's just as level headed. He'll try to incap... well, his only two valid targets, Jezebel and Heru. 8 AV vs 17 and 18+1, needs at least a 9, rolls.... 9. Hold still for a second, Mercy.

That's enough for tonight. South BFC roll is 6,4 for 10. That'll be a change, hopefully to something that will actually get used, like... Madness. Well, okay.

Reality had been altered again, it was the only idea that made any sense. Only seconds ago Gigawatt had been heading towards the lake, unleashing a full assault on his enemies, now (as a shot to the back had proven) his enemies were behind him. Where the clone of the Steaming Knuckle once stood, he saw an ally singed by the foes to the North.

The blast form Jezebel sent his defensive systems into an auto response, a deflection shield instantly raised and his claking device went into effect. If he was going to take out his enemies, he would have to take up a flanking position.

"Give 'em hell!" Gigawatt said to Steaming Knuckle as he sped away. There was little doubt in his mind that the Knuckle would need much encouragement to take his agression out on the nearby doppelgangers.

As Gigawatt reached his destination, he felt a slight system crash. His deflection shield dropped, leaving only his cloaking device to protect him.

"Damn," he thought. "I guess I overdid it a touch there. Hopefully the nanos can get all systems back up to full capacity soon, or I'm not going to be in the fight much longer."

He took a moment to rest. He was safe for the time being, but how long would that time last?
