Really? Never? No chance that one of the 'mindless lemmings' might of actually discovered a game they didn't know existed?

In my case, I had never read Invincible, even though it had been recommended to me by several friends. When I saw it as a possible set, I decided to pick up the first TPB. Next day I got all the rest of the TPBs and am now a regular reader of Invincible.

Isn't there the possibility that the opposite happened? An Invincible or PvP reader who found a game they liked?

Also, don't forget that Heroclix isn't just a game- it is a Collectible. While all the nonplaying voters may or may not pick up a brick solely for the collector set, if it doesn't sell out via Collectors Advantage, it will be offered to the general public, where these nonHeroclix playing Invincible fans can pick up miniature sculpts of their favorite characters.

I'm sure that a small number of people were brought into the game by this, and went on to join the Heroclix community, but that number was likely dwarfed by the number of people who didn't even pay attention to the "window dressing" surrounding the poll that they were told to vote on. It's not like you had to pass a Heroclix quiz before being allowed to vote or anything.

Perhaps, but it's a pretty poor value as a pure collectable. $40+S&H for seven VERY tiny little non-movable figurines? not likely to be worth it for most people unless they play the game. Better to wait for the 6 inch posable figurines, which will likely be about the same price.

Nice. It's funny how some arguments never die here. I started reading the Invincible comic beacause of the collectors set and now I have a subscription with my comic shop. It's fantastic.

It's worth a look even if you are STILL upset over the vote.
