1) There isn't much X involvement because they are already registered defacto anyway since they are in a government sponsored detainment camp. They have all been identified, tagged and bagged as the "198". Marvel has a Civil War: X-Men Mini $erie$ coming in late July I think.
2) Spider-Man and MJ was fine, they have a great dynamic and her being his rock and his guilt always made for a good read. What isn't good for Spider-Man is:
- living in a penthouse
- organic webs
- a stupid suit of armor
- norman osborne porking his ex-gf's
- clones
- carnage
- any carnage derivative
- any clone derivative
- reginald hudlin
- any reginald hudlin derivative
I for one don't have any problem with Spidey revealing his I.D. some new cool stories could come out of this. Besides his identity wasn't really a secret from anyone but the people at the Bugle anyway. Plus now he guarantees his famly's safty,
1) As being registered he is now a government employee, as such, the government will protect it's assets. Yes I know Spiderman is the asset and not his family, however if they are killed that makes SM kind of a wild card so to keep him happy his family has protection.
2) He gets to now stay with Tony in Avengers Tower... With the friggin Sentry thats pretty safe too.
3) He gets to keep the new costume, yes I know people hate it I mean after all it is different, and your average comic fan HATES change. Here are some rebuttles for costume complaints. "It's too much like Doc Ock"... uh he's Spider-Man folks, SPIDER, like the little eight legged creatures. "He's like Wolverine now"... How? Because he has pointed leggs on his back? If so, what kind of toads are people licking? Does Wolverine corner the market on pointed things? This comparison (Wolvie/New Spidey) just doesn't make sense. "It's too much like IronMan"... Well Tony did design it so he probably went with what he knows. However it does have the ability to look like his old costume, just now he has new gadgets.
4) Government paycheck and vacation, health and dental. I don't know about you guys but my health insurance bites. I want this kind of a deal.
5) There's a laundry list of people who knew his I.D. anyway from S.H.I.E.L.D. to Green Goblins, both Norman and Harry, to Venom, to the Scorpion, and whoever he sells that information to, oh and Aunt May and dang near every hero knows.
6) Again how does his reveal affect anything? Aunt May had already been kidnapped by Doc. Ock, and Vulture, and a few others I'm sure.
Death thunderer is akin to love making, it gets better each time.

1 Asset or not, hes going to have to put up with so much stuff by being a government employee. And it makes what he does not really a choice but a job. Not so heroic when youre getting paid to do it. Plus he will be on a schdule. Its hard to be a hero when your on a time clock. No bad guys after 5 pm please.
2 He was living there before as part of the non government sanctioned Avengers. If MJ leaves then itwill just be him and May. ewwwwww.
3 The armour is Stark Property. What do you thinks going to happen when Peter crosses Tony?
4 But for that paycheck Peteres goingto have to do what hes instructed to do by his handelers. Do you think the governement is going to pay him to just be himself? They always have their own agenda to fulfill. Look at how it went down when the Avengers fell under the US governments control.
5 Im still not sure who all knows of his ID besides the Avenger and SHIELD.
6 Reavealing not only affects Peter but regualr citizens as well. He is becoming the poster boy for registering. Hes a hero and an Icon and now hes a leader. Hes setting an example for other poeple and what they are doing out of patriatism can hurt them. Recruitment or invuluntary governemtn service, outside manipulations, villianous attacks- all made much easier if you have the idents of the people at your fingertips. Its supposed to be a secret list but that kind of info can be bought easily if the price is right. So, its not jist about how it affect Peter, but its the ripple effect through the Marvel U.
The selfish infect us all with sad, vulgar, sexual references and a constant barage of innapropriate innuendo. A pity to be subjected to this against our wills, but to allow it into our lives with open arms shames us all
Another thing Spiderman revealing his identity does is make it essentially impossible for Peter Parker to hold a normal job. He is obviously not going to be welcome at the Bugle (in fact all those people are basically out of his life unless Jameson unleashes them to harrange Peter's friends and family), and as a reletively unpopular hero it is unlikely that any normal company would hire him for anything, at least not one concerned with its public image. He's not so much of an everyman now that his job is to be a payed elite government goon.

Agreed for the most part... but hasn't he been working at Stark Enterprises as his 'day job' for a while now?
And Peter's always been a pretty smart guy, he can join the 'super-hero think tanks' of Reed, Pym, Stark, etc.
His days of snapping pics of spidey for the bugel were long gone a while ago.
Oddly, so do I. And, yes, that does make me scared for myself ... and, it also makes it burn when I pee.

i do have to admit, spidey's job's at the bugle and teaching high school are kinda like homer simpson working at the nuclear plant. he's got a job there but is always off doing something else. that's the job i want.

But Spidey has hitory of being the outsider. The misunderstood hero. That will connect with alot of the youth in the country. And you know how big business targets them. Spidey is the perfect now kinda hero. Very MTV, very pop culture. Very extreme ! Look how well the Movies have been recieved in our reality. I f any hero will bounse back from this backlash, it will be Spider-man.

Unfortunately I think Marvel actually plans to kill him over this. He finally gets some credit right before the curtain comes down. They don't call it a curtain call for nothing.
