Just like Jay Garrick isn't the Flash. He's Jay Garrick.

Well, for me, Alan is the GL I think of first when someone mentions Green Lantern. It's because when I first started reading comics, I got them from a neighbor who gave me his collection of books he started collecting back in the 40's. Alan was one of my faves, after Cap Marvel and Specter.
Tho, oddly enough, I'm with you about Jay Garrick, but that's probably because there were no Flash comics in the collection from the 40's. Barry Allen's Flash was in another box, and so Barry's The Flash to me.
