Fire alarms sounded, and the heroes raced to the monitor room to see what was the matter. They barged in on a man at the desk watching the monitors.

"Where's the fire?" one of the heroes demanded.

The man in Blue pointed to the lady with green hair.

There was some awkward silence.

Then the man in blue spoke. "I was just making sure you were all awake."

"Y'know Beetle," one of the heroes said, scowling.

"Yeah?" The prankster turned grinning.

"there's nothing like a good sense of humor ---- and you've got nothing like a good sense of humor."

The grin quickly turned into a frown as the man in blue crossed his arms.

The man pointed at the monitors where all the television screen scrambled. The picture quickly readjusted and it became apparent to everyone watching that the broadcast was hijacked when a robot with a head that looked like a metallic ear of corn laying on it's side appeared and spoke.

The hulking figure turned to face the green blur and the alien immediately quit speaking.

The green blur flew off and tried not to vomit.

When the office light went dark the figure waited a few minutes then crept in the window, and rifled through the desk, and then the closet. The figure carefully put everything back in place and crept back out the window where a hand grabbed them, and started to melt their flesh.
