Spectrum RS to R13, attacks Magneto, AV9 on DV14. Gets 8 and Magneto is down. He's not that much of a threat at this point, but it's a symbolic victory. Unintentional push on Spectrum, but worth it, I hope.
Starhawk goes HSS, flies to X8 to attack Sage. AV8 on DV15. Gets 10. Finally, some decent rolls. 2 to Sage. Starhawk ends W5 to take advantage of Surfer's Defend.
E Dr. Spectrum @@ R13 (2)
LE Sentinel of the Skyways V5 (7!)
LE One Who Knows @ W5 (6)
HO M10
LO R14, R15, O11
Broken Wall I11/J11, R11/S11
This feels like it's got to end soon. 2 to Sage makes a big difference. Unus on Surfer. Needs 9, rolls 10. He's out. Every time I feel ready to cave in something like this happens.
Sage ups her damage to 2 and hopes to get a 9 against Spectrum. Rolls 6.
Considering you'd only have to hit Dr. Spectrum once to make Unus utterly unhittable, whereas he'd have to roll several really high numbers, not to mention getting past Unus's SS & Imperv rolls without being hit once, yeah, I'll give you this. I'm glad to put this one behind us at last. The Defenders have always done will in these (even winning the first MTBTYT) so it'll be good to give someone else a chance.
Now when we drafted for the next round, you took the Defenders, expecting them to win this. But the Brotherhood did instead. If you want the Brotherhood again, then you're welcome to them. If you'd rather not play them a third time running, then here's what I propose. I had already drafted the Skrulls and the JLA before you drafted the Defenders. If you want, you can give me the Brotherhood - I'll be happy to take them - and take one of the teams I picked after you drafted the Defenders. That's Batman Allies and Sinister Syndicate. Both of whom you've played the first two rounds as well.
Just realized, the bad guys are doing well this time. By now we're usually down to one or two token villain teams, but this time it's an even split. Marvel's got a bit of an edge over DC at 5 teams to 3 in the final 8.
I'm surprised but kind of glad to see the Brotherhood make round 3. Pretty skin-of-your-teeth game.
While I might be tempted to take Skrulls or JLA from your group (of course the teams you drafted before I chose Defenders and of course you'd want Skrulls, I don't blame you at all) I'm not so tempted to play SS or Batenemies again so I'll keep the muties. The Bros are a good team, glad to have them, although as I've said not as good as the Defenders. They just had a bad day....it's the football 'any given Sunday' analogy.
So for you: Sinister Syndicate, JLA, Batman Enemies, Skrulls
Me: Avengers, X-Men, Brotherhood, Titans
If you don't mind starting the two new games I'll take your #4 and 3. I'll roll 500 for the game I get initiative on, if that's a dupe of teams they've played I roll 400.
#4 will be Batman Enemies against your #3. I got initiative in game 1 last round, so I think you'll get initiative on this one. Batman Enemies did play at 500 points last time, so we'll go with 400 points, unless that was the point level your team played at, and a lot of the games were 400 pointers. If so you can roll again when you post who your team is.
My #3 for the next game is JLA and I'll take your #2 to go against them at 700, which should stick. The only 700 point team from last time was the Syndicate, and they were mine.
One I know who your teams are, I'll post the threads.
