Nice, well written prologues...Surprisingly, none of them read like rants or reprimands

Wow Thawmus, I am utterly impressed! this is going to be one awesome Mafia game!!! The Story line is impressive, I felt like I was right there with them!!

I was shocked Thawmus refrained from calling Romack a rattler

I am a little sad that Romack isn't going to be a bigger part of the overall story. I have just as many versions for Romack as I do for Thawmus, but I don't want to involve them.

I once had a long discussion with my psychiatrist about Thawmus and Romack, and he felt that they are likely two different personalities of mine. Nothing like the MPD you see on TV, mind you, but he was a little puzzled that mine blended together nicely, instead of being polar opposites of one another.

I proceeded to tell him that they were fictional characters, that he was a hack, and that the reason my personalities "blended together nicely" was because I only had ONE. And then wrote him a check and set up an appointment for the next week.

Moral of the story? You can see signs of my personality in both characters. Thawmus has always had my more headstrong, put the blinders on, be aggressive, punch til' you can't punch no mo, mentality. And Romack is the more intellectual, teaching, logical, caring, mentality. Because that's who I am. Someone that punches you in the face, and then really feels bad about it, and tries to teach you how to get the #### out of the way next time.

Okay, I'm a little hacked off. Apparently the calendar is not used as a tool anymore, it's just there. Kids, when you see that there are 3 games starting at the end of December, 2 games starting at the beginning of January, and another 3 starting the week after, you should know that January 4th is not a good time to start your game.

I know that everyone wants to try their hand at running a mafia game. And by all means, I really wish we could get some more new takes on the game that way, and enjoy seeing others try their hand at it. BUT WE DO NOT HAVE THE PLAYERBASE FOR THIS, CHILDREN.

Right now, I was supposed to start my game on January 4th. I've been working toward that deadline, and I'm on schedule to meet it. Right down to the role writeups. But I will be damned if I deal with 10 other games (Check the schedule if you don't believe me) running at the same time.

So, one thing that I'm doing, effective immediately, is changing our start date from the 4th, to the 5th. At least with that, I won't have my phases occurring at the same time as 3 other games that now have the same start date as I did. But I am highly skeptical that this will be enough. And I'm not a fan of Tuesday start dates.

I would like opinion from you guys on what I should do here. My instinct is to push this back another month. But I have a ton of problems with that. Namely that there's no guarantee that I'll have any better luck then, than I will in January. So, I need opinions and ideas. Game Flow is my #1 concern as a mod, so I would like to hear from you guys on that.

I understand your frustration, but I think delaying another month is the wrong move. Keep in mind that the January start dates are *hopefully* a bit of hiccup, mainly because of the holiday season delaying the start dates of games that would be starting in December. You delayed your game for that very reason, I imagine.

I've deleted Goodman's TV game, and most of the December games, aside from charlesx's should be done by then. I'm *guessing* we'll have 5-6 games going on then. If mods can work out 3 starting on a Sunday/Monday, the other three should be able to start on a Monday/Tuesday.

If more people delay however, we'll have only 3 or 4 games on-going. I think we can support more than that.

Pretty much. I guess I just recognize that school tends to be a rather major factor for a lot of our players. Some of them aren't here when school is in, some of them aren't here when school is out. I'd rather keep it status quo for the run. DBZ 2 had some major problems, because school started, and apparently half of my players hadn't prepared for school to actually start.

So, for the short, non-Thawmus answer: Yes.

Run it, it will be fine. Many games are starting mid to late January, and your game WILL be starting on its date. I wouldn't count on the same happening with every other "projected" Jan. 4 start date.

Plan for people to be slow on opening their own games and just know that you won't be.

I'm afraid Shadow will not be around to co-mod this game with me, so I'm gonna do this one solo. Maybe. I have a couple of people in mind to co-mod this, so I'll ask them.

Without saying more: Keep Shadow in your thoughts, guys. He said he likely won't be around for a couple of months.

Going into the final stretch here, folks.

Considering there is a winter storm hitting us at the moment, I'm not sure when the last few prologues will be written. But it is the opposite of what you think. If the winter storm is heavy enough, then I will not be visiting my family this weekend, which means I'll be spending time doing that, instead.

I am still finishing up on my role writeups. I am hoping these will be done sometime either this weekend, or early next week. When everything is finalized, the roles will be sent out to you guys. My current personal deadline for this is Wednesday of next week, assuming I get snowed in. Otherwise, it'll be Friday of next week.

I hope these prologues are getting you guys excited for the game.

Just want to give everyone a heads up:

Roles for Thawmus' Heroes will be going out today, tonight, or tomorrow. Would really like to send them out today, so I can answer any questions people have about them.

The last 3 Preludes are still coming. I'll have all of them up before Monday. If you haven't read them yet, it's okay. But you may want to look them over during night phases and such, or when you have nothing better to do. You may find information in there, that is important during the game. No promises one way or the other.

We are still looking at opening on Monday morning, for maximum participation. If you are going to be unable to play, I need to know NOW. There are already a few players that are signed up, that are big question marks for me at the moment. I'd prefer to replace people before the game starts.

I'm really looking forward to this game, and I hope you guys are as well!
