No mention of changes to the duo rules. I find that interesting.
CarlosMucha: that is like be running in a Olimpic race competition just one step to get the gold and then a Giant children place a mirror in your side and you discover what you are really a hamster over a whell and the gold is just a slice of chess. Avatar Summoning: Original GotG, Melter, Whiplash
All I care about is that the dang Injustice League Team Ability better get freaking changed on the PAC this time around. I'm sick and freaking tired of carrying around "The Society" Feat card all the time, and if I have to continue to do so and/or pay an additional cost PLUS worry about Keywords, I might completely lose what little is left of my mind.
Tomorrow's PAC reveal can't get here soon enough.
Norm, if you'd like to ease my mind now, please do.
When a combat symbol comes from a special power or ability, it is clear now that it overrides whatever other combat symbol the character currently possesses
Since this mentions Namora, who gets hers from a trait, I think that the new Batman/Green Arrow will need to be addressed.
They have a trait that says they possess the Sharpshooter abililty. Wouldn't this then overide the printed Duo ability, effectively making them not a duo?
Alternate Team Abilities: Mechanically, ATAs will no longer replace existing team abilities – they will be additional abilities that the qualifying characters can use.
I'm a little confused about this. Does this mean the ATAs that have come out even up to and including the ones in BnB will be errataed? Because all of them have this blurb:
"All characters on your force w/ the [Insert Keyword here] keyword are assigned this feat and have the following team ability instead of any other TA:"
So... is that gonna be removed? Is it gonna stay? Is it not gonna be added to the re-written older cards?
Also, has it been addressed anywhere what happens if an ATA violates the 10% rule [if that's even possible]? Although I guess that rule may not exist anymore.
I find some of the arguments for and against these changes interesting. I may be assuming too much, but the general consensus seems to be that players want the rules to be more clear (I hesitate to use the term "simpler"). The implication to this desire is that the rules will change. This is inevitably going to lead to new effective combinations while other combinations won't work as well as they previously did. If you accept that the rules need to be more clear, you have to accept that some rules may no longer be balanced. That doesn't mean that these rules can't be changed in the future when unbalanced rules are encountered; we already get changes each year when a new starter/rule book is released that addresses what is seen as problematic rule mechanics. Has there ever been a new rulebook that didn't change some part of the game? We have to relearn the game every year, so I don't see how this really changes teaching new players.
Good job Norm. I can't wait to see the full rulebook.
Oh, just thought of something fun with the new "replace then modify". You could now perplex up the damage of a BCF character by +3, so a BCF attack could possibly do 9 damage. So (without rolling doubles), Spiral (or Morlock Leader) could potentially do 18 damage in one turn. Cool.

I think I agree. I like keywords, I really do... but keeping track of them [even though, yes, most of the time they're right there on the card] is something I can't quite keep up with. Trying Golden Age games and having ATAs tied to keywords might be a pain in my butt. Might be. We'll see.

I think he mentioned that ATAs aren't considered feats anymore. Therefore, they can't violate the 10% rule.
Click Numbers: As has been mentioned in earlier previews, starting with Blackest Night, figures are going to be printed with small red numbers that indicate what click you are on.
So your opponent declares a ranged attack against a figure in Hindering Terrain.
If the figure were a Batman Ally, then your opponent never could have declared the attack in the first place. That's why you can't copy Batman Ally.

That's doesn't seem right. The Batman TA can use Stealth. They do not possess the power. I realize nobody plays it this way, but there's no reason you can't declare a ranged attack against a Batman Ally. It should work the same way prob and perplex work on your turn. You Bats Ally's don't have to turn off their TA when you target them, but can use Stealth if an opponent wants to prob an attack by them.

I really don't know that I want to ease anyone's mind! I mean, if I do, then what incentive do you have to check in tomorrow???

No - Batman/Green Arrow's trait says that they possess the Sharpshooter ability. It does not say that they have . Being able to possess/use an ability is not overriding anything - it's combat symbols that do that.

I hate to contradict you, Norm, but 'possess' is equal to 'have', not 'use'.
This is like Crisis Nightwing, which states he 'possesses' the mentioned TA's, which allows them to be WildCarded as if he 'had' them.
(Edit: Or are we splitting hairs between using the word, Sharpshooter and using the symbol, sharpshooter? If so, I understand your point, and thanks)
