Anyone want to take any bets on how many prize kits for tB&tB are online for sale right now? (you know the site).
What's the point of putting the words 'not for resale' on the paper that comes with the prize kits if so many people are going to disobey the instructions and sell them anyways?
According to the online site, the prize kits are being sold from the following locations:
Glendale, California, United States
Shiloh, Illinois, United States
Rochester, United States
San Jose, California, United States
East York, Ontario, Canada (selling all 3 LEs)
If you live in any of these areas, can you please track down who's selling these items and give them a good slap over the head for me? Because they are kind of ruining the whole purpose of prize kits. If everyone can buy the prizes online, why even give them out at tournaments?
This is just stupid.
edit: And I know that is okay to sell them after you've earned them, but I really doubt some people have already earned a complete set of all the prizes, or even a complete set of all the LEs.
I'm in rochester. and i can guarantee you that I'll be giving out every ding dang prize at comics etc.
i can also just about guarantee you that the rochester location is millenium games...which formerly had its heroclix section operated by realms favorite SifuLama. i know hes not in charge of their clix stuff anymore but he killed the scene there so effectively that they dont care about players.
It clearly has "NOT FOR RESALE". Unless you are mentally reignorant, you know what that means. English mother####er, do you speak it? It's like pulp fiction trying to get people to understand ethics.
Two thoughts -
First, you gotta start writing for situation comedy TV. This is some of the most amazingly funny stuff I've read in years.
Second, just to be clear in my own mind. Are you saying that Pulp Fiction is a vehicle in which to teach people about ethics? Because if it is, I must confess that I think its a little dodgy. What with all the theft, illegal use of medical products (which are illegal to resell), murder and the whole 'bring out the gimp' thing, I'm not sure its the best way to exam ethics.
Or are you saying its because of all of that that Pulp Fiction is a great example of poor ethics.
Or did you just throw that Pulp Fiction reference in because you just thought it was a cold-blooded thing to say to a fellow before you popped a cap in his mentally reignorant butt?
I am in awe of the cool and awesome people here on HCR!

The path of the righteous HeroClix gamer is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish judges and the tyranny of evil venues. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will does not sell OP kits on eBay, but shepherds the weak through the valley of the Rainbow Bridge map. For he is truly his clixer's keeper and the finder of lost dice. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious crit hits those who attempt to outwit my poison and destroy my theme team. And you will know my name is the {VGA} d1sc1pL3 when I lay my vengeance upon thee cheese.

Check out the big brain on VGA...
(well done, sir, with rep left for the laugh!)

If a store got Black Lanterns and don't run tourneys, that's comparing apples to oranges, and you know it. Those venues didn't ask for Black Lanterns, they were just given to them.
Whereas the OP Kits, you have to actually order that. It's a conscious decision. So your argument is ignorant of the facts, and is invalid.
1) NO ONE asked for the black lanterns you idiot.
They simply arrived as a bonus for pre-ordering this set.
They shipped to quallifying (brick&mortar only I presume) stores regardless of wether they were actual venues or not. If they weren't following WK news, no one even knew they were getting anything!
And nobody was required to do anything with them. Sure, WK sent a letter with thier suggestion of how to give them out as prizes, but so what???
And VGA? It's people like YOU that convince me that these games would be better off without prize support of any kind - save for at directly run WK events at cons. Want the stupid little ROYGBIV lanterns? Then haul yourself to GenCon.
How can YOU prove that.... 100% ethical companies don't stay in business long....that high horse backwards. Everything you're spouting smells like horse ####.
Bolded the part I would like to respond to, and cut out most of the rest.
It's this kind of attitude that has brought western civilization to the sorry state of affairs it is in these days. To say that being 100% ethical will actually put you out of business....not only is it untrue, but it's also quite sad that you think that.
It is imminently possible to be a successful business man with ethics. Difficult sure, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try. What you're advocating here is that ethics=stupidity, and that is a completely erroneous attitude.
Christ did not come to condemn the world, but to save it.
##### is censored? Really?!?! How about other body parts? Earballs?

As someone whos been a part of the tournament scene since the old IC days (was a player until INDY and then a judge right until HOT) I've come to the conclusion that I'd rather rip off my knee caps with a blunt ##### (not one of them new-fangled sharpened ones) than try to run or play in public events.
Even here locally I've heard so many retailers ask me "whats wrong with heroclix players?" that I'd rather not be associated with the socially unconscious/whiny/entitled-freakshow, and oddly greedy crowds they seem to end up being.
And its a shame as it didn't used to draw in so many loosers and control freaks, but the longer the games been around the more people seem to think they're entitled to TELL other people how to play...

This is at least the fourth time in the last week I've read online a variation of the same Pulp Fiction riff. You guys really need to get some new material.
You have used a censored word. Please remove this word. <-- Please kiss that word.
As for unethical businesses, isn't that why the auto and bank industries are failing? 'Nuff said.
Considering that the major Australian banks all posed increased profits during the GFC, I'd say that "poor regulations" is why the banking industries in other countries are failing. I work in the Australian banking industry, and you'll see chase figures in dime machines before you see one of our banks collapse.
Unless you are claiming that Australian bankers are living saints... which would be very kind of you.
