So the high price point may mean that few people preorder Watchmen.
This may mean that few stores stock Watchmen.
This may mean that few copies of the "must have" (big name, borken dial) Watchmen figures show up on eBay.
This may mean that those figures sell for a small fortune, as everybody's a cherrypicker and not many people actually bought the set.
This may mean that people rush out to buy whatever is left.
Regardless, I'll be preordering. I want these figures.
I agree. I think we have a situation brewing where the Watchmen set will end up being worth more than retail on the secondary/eBay market. I'm buying one.
if you have two houses, those are 2 households...put someone else name on the stuff too just to be safe
Not really:

Here's what I'm expecting, based on characters who appeared in the movie:
Watchmen
---------
Comedian
Doctor Manhattan
Daniel Dreiberg Nite Owl
Ozymandias
Rorschach
Laurie Juspeczyk Silk Spectre
Minutemen
---------
Hollis Mason Nite Owl
Sally Jupiter Silk Spectre
Captain Metropolis
The Hooded Justice
The Dollar Bill
The Mothman
The Silhouette
Villains
--------
Moloch The Mystic
Big Figure
Roy Chess (the assassin hired to kill Ozymandias)
Knot Top Gang Leader
Knot Top Gang Member
Add in a cop or two, two versions of the Comedian (for young and old), maybe a detective or two (Steven Fine, Jon Bourquin?), and WK will probably feel obligated to add a couple duos ( ), and you've got your 25.
I'm really looking forward to it for the 13-14 superhero dials (not counting duos) we'll be getting (or we SHOULD be getting). Should be enough options there to give lots of team-building options. If we get 3 gang members (leader and two members) and 3 cops (detective and two beat cops) as generics, I think that would be damned fine as well!
I'm confused by NECA's logic on this set, There are only so many heroes in the Watchmen series, so what are the other fill in's? Wasn't it like 75 figs in the collectors case????? They should have stuck with the core figs and came in at a more reasonable price.

25 figures, not 75.

If anything, there may be parallels to the Watchmen set for those same issues. People may feel the same about two Talias as they do two Silk Spectres. I know the marketing for Watchmen promises 25 "unique" sculpts, so that aspect shouldn't be an issue.
You know what 25 unique sculpts (assuming they're all figs) means? It means 25 less characters that I need to mod.
Talia on the other hand? Just make 1 dial. Then if I'd desired both a pink & a black suited one? I'd simply pull out a bottle of paint.
So $4 per fig here is a good exchange.
Here's hoping the sculpts/paint jobs are of good quality.
Not everybody mods figures. In fact I'd say "modders" are in the vast minority of clix players. We don't have a single person in our really rich gaming area that mods heroclix figures. I think I have seen 1 Skrull Ms Marvel painted with "flesh color" paint. And he just did it because.
And I don't care about the set unless the figures are playable. Never saw the movie or read the comics, have no clue who any of them are. But I'll buy the playable ones secondary.
