I really, really miss the old days when it was new. Mafia felt a lot more fun back then. Now I try not to join a game unless it's explicitly not a normal Mafia game.
Hey Thawm. I haven't gotten around to messing with my router today. Was busy all day and looks like I will be the next couple days, so I'm not sure when I'll get to it. Was gonna try tonight, but a lightening storm is almost here so I'm shutting down soon. I -might- get to it tomorrow.
It's cool. I got to play Talisman today at the bookstore, so I'm pretty happy.

Hey, I know how it is. I live in Nebraska, and I'm not crazy about getting drunk every weekend. Can't say that in public, though. You live in Utah, and aren't crazy about 15 wives. I know how it is. I know how it is.

I feel that a lot of games, in general, have a rate of utility to them. Like, there's a point where it is just overdone, and you cannot have fun with it anymore.
Mafia, quite obviously, can go a long time before it stops being fun. But, for me, it reaches that point more and more quickly each time, now.
And, I'm in agreement with Wade and Iceman, since they've both said that some people take the game a bit seriously. Like, I kinda feel like I have to dial up the snarky attitude, just as a defense mechanism sometimes. And that kinda takes me back to why I keep quitting in the first place.
I mean, if I want mind-numbing stress, I'll just dwell on work for 5 seconds. I don't need to play a game, for that.

Your punctuation is crazy in this post.
I'm pretty sure that I, personally, reached the point where I play each game for my own purposes after I did well enough in a bunch of games following "convention."
Broken Sky
Guardians of Ga'Hoole
Cronicles of Thomas Covenant (First and Second)
Beast Masters Circus, Beast Masters Quest
Diary of a Wimpy Kid
Pretty much anything by Dean Koontz
I'd like to mod a game in the future based on books I enjoy, and was wondering if anyone had an interest in any of these books.
Alternatively, would anyone play in a Dean Koontz mafia game?
I think I have seen books by Dean Koontz, can't off the top of my head say if I ever read anything by him...would have to look, only Author that I really have read the books because of the author has been Tom Clancy...though I tend to like the Ryanverse books better then the other stuff.
Anyone know of an old arcade game that was basically vikings and medevil guys playing rugby on a battlefield where you could hit trees and ####? I can't think of the name of it to save my life.
Nothing? Seriously guys, I need help with this one or my MAME may be missing out on an awesome old game.

I feel that way sometimes. I've hit spots recently where I feel like I'm having the most fun playing roles that are super quirky and allow me to just go nuts. The other roles are fun still, but not as much as they used to be.

I think the fun factor would come back for a lot of people if the games became more laid back again.
Some games you get to the point where you want to half ### it but you aren't just playing for yourself, but rather your mason group, your mafia or whatever so you don't feel right doing it but then they don't want to put up as much effort. Then I end up stressed and pissed off wanting to just throw my phone across the room. You end up with townies making stuff up just to get you lynched, or the same players banding together just to make sure you can't win. It makes games like the survivor ones suck, these friends stick together so they don't work out well they never change it up either. That doesn't make one feel too great either, no one will mail you in those games either because there is just that core group of friends. I was going to go to WWE but when I showed interest in going, no one cared, it was like I was invisible, so I decided then I probably wouldn't have fun, so why go?
