Just used him in a 500pt construct on HCOL with WOS Nightcrawler, Chase Susan Richards and a Researcher. Never got touched. Seriously, I didn't even have to roll for Impervious. No attack got past Super Senses. I kept Nightcrawler stealth until I would attack with him, when he hit I would just move the fig right into the Dr's LOF and blast for 5 clicks. So what no move and attack!?!? Just get Gee or a TK fig out there and you're good. Even if someone is shooting at him with PB he can make you re-roll or evade. With a few researchers next to him, who would dare to leave a fig hanging with Dr. Manhattan in range?
finally used him today in a 400 pt modern age. i just used the rest of the team to put support around him (Night Nurse, JJJ, Researcher, Blue Lantern, Lightspeed, Clark Kent LE) and he surprisingly held his own very well. he lead me to victory. i swept my first two games, then in the final my opponent managed to take out all my support and get Manhattan down to his 2nd to last click, but time ran out and i had more points, so i just barely won. Still, i was very impressed with him. he is not perfect, but against the right team and opponent, he is very difficult to go against.
Extremely overrated. Can be treat the same as when Groot hits the colossal clicks, just run. He's too slow. KO the support and just run and he can't do much.
Just run away? He has un-Outwittable Phasing/Teleport and high movement throughout his entire dial. No move and attack, so he might have to push in order to chase you down, but he's pretty much the polar opposite of Groot's colossal clicks. He has few weaknesses, but movement isn't one of them.
Well, he's certainly capable of beating the snot out of almost anyone in a firefight. Up close, the good Doctor is a little weaker, but a full dial of Psyblast is something to be reckoned with. If your opponent can't get him off that fantastic top click, they're probably in trouble. And Scientist Keyword gives him some good buddy options in higher point games... Great Figure! I want one!
ThePancakeMan must be eating flap jacks laced with hashish. How long are you going to be able to run from this beast. Dr. M with the Comedian and Ozy, took down my 500 point Infinity Watch team, (Thanos #96, Moondragon #87, Gamora, and Wiccan with a Mockingbird). True My opponent scored big with the Comedian taking Mjolnir, barf, but Dr. M. kept making super senses rolls and when he missed those he made the impervious rolls. He also shined with repulsor shield, barf again. I hit him with Thanos, but nooo.. Psychic Blast cause of that dopey repulsor shield (my opponent saw my Thanos b4 the game...cheep).
I used this guy a couple days back with other watchmen (Walter Kovacs, Nite owl, and Silk Spectre) and holy cow, is this guy broke. I mean, 4 damage starting up? And on one click, he has prob control, super senses, and his impervious ability! He's almost untouchable if yo know how to play him! And if I make a generic Scientist team, you better believe he'll be in it.
This guy isnt broken at all, he is exactly what he should be UNSTOPPABLE. Technically they only thing that can stop DR. Manhattan is Dr. Manhattan he has no kryptonite except the part of him that still has human emotion. Stop whining no figure is broken or unstoppable you just gotta think like them, at least he cant move and attack.
He's certainly not broken, per se. Rather, he's one of the few one-man-armies that you actually do need 300 points worth of figures to kill. He's not unbeatable, but with AT LEAST impervious on 7/10 clicks, an array of other defenses (super-imperv and super-senses, which is just plain mean together) and psyblast down the dial, he doesn't really have a glaring weak spot like a lot of other 250+ point clix. However, he's not unkillable. Penetrating damage still hurts him like hell, so make every instance of psyblast or EW count. Plus, he still takes pushing damage, so if you want to play it slow and steady, incap isn't a bad strategy either, and is usually onhand more often than penetrating damage. He's not broken, he's just what he ought to be.
That said, if somebody plays him with a medic, feel free to call them a wiener.
Speaking of medics, Dr. Manhattan here is absolutely absurd when paired with CR Chief in a 400 pt. game. Solves the whole pushing problem and can outwit problematic Psychic Blast/Exploit Weakness. Plus, Chief can Mastermind damage to Dr. Manhattan...and then heal it away with Support:devious:
