Travelling Man in Leeds have been trying to get Heroclix up and running recently but they ran Month 1 AvX but only the organisers showed up for it, well at least that was what the organisers told me. I believe they are going to try and persist and hope more people turn up or the store is able to improve marketing of the event. I will ask one of the organisers to get in touch with you about it. Zone Out in Doncaster and Patriot Games in Sheffield also have regular games which aren't too far away.

Thats great Bluerat you are a class act, i'd love to hear from the travelling man guys if they are up for trying to get more stuff going, especally if they decided to run more OP. I can try and rope more people in that I know who might be interested. Doncaster would be a great 2nd option if that doesnt work out.
Hopefully the organisers will get back to me soon if it is on again, you could also try contacting the Travelling Man store in Leeds as well (0113) 243 6461 although as I say they might not know much at the moment about Month 2.
Zone out gaming in Doncaster are holding AvX Month 3 on the 22nd March if you wanted to go to that, I also know some guys in York who I think were trying to put a group together but I don't know if they ever got anything up and running. I sent them a message as well, let you know if I hear back with anything.

Gogo wall of text!
Hi aether. Travelling Man are the go-to shop for Clix in Leeds (as in 'the only'). They're normally good but often frustrating. That said, they finished a big sale in January so their Heroclix stock is pretty bare right now, but they have a nice new play area over the road from the main store for when they run events.
I've been running the tournaments in Leeds for a year or so but despite Trav Man shifting what i'd consider a good amount of stock, there seems to be little appetite for play as my player base has consisted of just two loyal players.
As touched on earlier in this post i'd persuaded them to get AvX with the intention of pushing a starter format and building the player base but sadly after it was made clear to me that Travelling Man themselves wanted to handle it their way i let them take over and manage any and all promotion. Not my best move as only one of my two players turned up for month one.
Afterward i spoke to the owner and gave him the list of places i had intended to advertise. I'm hoping they'll get the month 2 kit in and we can try and do this thing properly but i haven't directly asked that question yet (kinda out of fear of being told 'no').
In the meantime, i play most saturdays at Zoneout in Doncaster - its only about 30 mins from Leeds by train and there's usually a good turnout with Ash (the owner) being very enthusiastic and varying the prizes with things like signed comics amongst the usual prize kits and sealed boxes or bricks. They advertise on their Facebook page (Heroclix at Zoneout).
Thanks for the further clarification guys. Hopefully Travelling man gets themselves organized soon. I work in Leeds so that would be an easy option, but Zoneout sounds like they really want to get behind it so that may be the best place. If Travelling man dont play ball I'll contact the guys at Zoneout and learn the score. I'm not over experienced although I have good grasp of the rules, the meta game is far out of my reach, hopefully I wont turn up and get creamed too quickly!
I'm one of the guys from York that BlueRat mentioned. We kind of stalled out in November in getting a game together of people in York after some initial commitments, but I"m going to try to become a bit more active again as soon as term finishes up in the next couple of weeks of trying to figure out at least who is around, and see if we can get a play group going.
I seem to remember Leeds having a second shop selling Heroclix within walking distance of Travelling Man. It was a couple of years ago (GSX release), so it may have closed out. But I snagged a bunch of stuff in TM and that other shop at that time.
It's interesting - the experience reported with TM was exactly the experience I had when I tried to start things up after HoT here in York. They got the kits in at my request, I offered to do all kinds of stuff at the uni's and gaming groups in town, but they wanted to handle it. Nothing ever happened with it.
One of the big problems is we have so little product in York, and that is likely related to demand. I don't think York even got the CTD for IIM in. They have heavily repurposed the store for Warhammer recently - so that may be why.
Anyways - if you like I can add you to the contact list for when we are going to get something together in York. Even if it is in the evening there is still a chance you could make it up as we have late trains running both ways until about midnight.

I've been back in to Travelling Man and things look optimistic for AvX month 2. They're not going to commit until the kit's in the shop, however. They have a SLoSH kit too and when pressed admit they 'think they're going to do something with it'.
