Batman and Hercules asked Spiderman to cover for Hawk & Dove at Happy Harbor until they could return, hopefully with Beast Boy in tow.

They used a quinjet to fly on to Happy Harbor since the Batplane could only accomodate one passenger.

After dropping off Spiderman to assist Yellowjacket in the defense of Happy Harbor, they greeted Hawk & Dove and; leaving the quinjet behind, used the enchantments imbued in Hercules' mace, and headed to Asgard.

Hercules was startled to learn that Olympus was their as well as Asgard and he made a note to check in on that after his business in asgard was done.

They arrived on the Bifrost bridge and found themselves facing a huge green Tyrannosaurous Rex that looked a little tired.

Batman suggested that Hawk approach Beast Boy since they had been Titans together.

Hawk cautiously moved up to Garfield Logan. He'd worked alongside Logan but he hadn't become friends with him. Hank was into sports while Logan was something of a videogame nerd.

Sure enough, Logan nearly took Hawk's head off when he approached him.

Batman then tried to approach him with similar results.

Dove made an attempt and seemed to keep the T-Rex Logan calm but was unable to convince him to change or move out of the way of the gates of Asgard.

A frustrated Hercules simply marched up to Logan and offered him the "gift". He then loaded the prostrate Logan (who had reverted to human form upon losing consciousness) onto his shoulders and returned them all to Happy Harbor saying they were lucky they hadn't had to face the Enchantress.

Hercules told them he was returning to Asgard as he wanted to speak with Amora and he needed to visit Olympus now that he knew it was there as well. He told Batman to keep an eye on his young friend as hercules would need to coerce the Enchantress to release Beast Boy from his enchantment.

The halfling, Blick Onstaff asked Nightcrawler and Wolfsbane just when he might get some support in his quest to rescue his comrades from their kidnapping by the Githyankis.

They were sympathetic but were unsure how they would be able to access the Ethereal plane in order to mount the rescue. The gnome Grimble Grumble told him to be patient as he worked on devising a spell that might be of use.

Nightcrawler was anxious for news because he had worked out a plan with Hank Pym and Hercules which just might be the salvation of Wolverine. It meant relying on superheroes from a strange universe but he didn't care. He only cared about success and he had faith in the Flash. The Flash vouched for Aquaman so he had high hopes. He hadn't told Wolfsbane because if the plan failed he didn't want to dash her hopes.

Doc Samson and the X-Men prepared their assault on Capital City.

First, Storm drew a tremendous thunderstorm down on the city with huge gusts of wind and lightning bursts that somehow failed to hamper her allies. the occupying orcs, ogres and giants became disillusioned as they tried to navigate through the maelstrom.

Iceman began freezing out the giants and ogres that seemed to shrug off the effects of Storm's assault.

The one's that Iceman missed were harrassed by demoralizing explosions that helped drive them away by Boom Boom.

Meanwhile; the Beast and Doc Samson beat up any nonhuman they could get their hands on.

Finally, a white flag was brought out. A very human looking wizard /warrior came out complaining that they had interrupted him in a crucial spell that would greatly benefit mankind.

After harrassing and subjugating several of the worlds that he'd encountered that fell under the jurisdiction of the Skrull empire, Sinestro finally targeted the Skrull throneworld. He'd enjoyed terrorizing the other worlds but it was time to move on to other pursuits. If he subjugated the throneworld then he could probably force the entire Skrull empire to fall in line.

He arrived at the throneworld and confronted the apparent rulers.

He announced himself as Sinestro and gave some convincing demonstrations of his immense power.

After learning the names of his audience as Raksor and Nenora he began to lay out his demands for capitulation.

He was interrupted in his demands by two Skrulls and a hairy bluegray brutish beast man that burst into the conference room. One of the Skrulls seemed unusual in that he had one arm on fire while the other arm stretched like that buffoonish Elongated Man but ended in a rocklike fist.

Suddenly he was under assault by both the odd Skrull and the brute.

Elektra had scoured Midway City for the tools she would need to destroy vampires. She'd found several things in the city museum that would be very useful in destroying vampires. She had no debts to this city but something in her soul told her she couldn't walk away from this city while such an extreme threat festered inside it.

By spying on Medusa and the Black Cat, she'd learned a great deal about what had happened to all of them. It was complicated and she wasn't sure what her role was meant to be but she had some ideas about what she might choose to do, but first she felt compelled to aid Rachel Van Helsing in her quest to eliminate the scourge of the vampire threat.

Now there was this "Hawkman" who seemed to be the city's hero that was from an alternate reality. She'd watch him and decide for herself whether he could be trusted. So far, only the Skrull that arrived when she had was aware of her presence and he hadn't seemed to care. For now that's she wanted it.

Wistfully, she wondered if Daredevil was somewhere on this world. Angry with herself, she quickly put that out of her mind.

Aquaman delivered Wolverine to a beachfront near a huge field. Logan recognised it as the field where he'd first appeared and looked enquiringly at Aquaman. Aquaman told him that the nearby mountain held a large Shield facility in it's interior and he should find friendly faces in the mountain. Aquaman was anxious to check up on Atlantis. With that, Aquaman disappeared into the surf and Wolverine was left to enter the facility on his own.

Wolverine trotted over to the mountain and began climbing.

Arriving at the Aerie of these creatures she slowly discovered that she could understand their speech. They were known as Aarakocra and they wanted her help in driving away a pride of Griffons that had begun to prey on them in the area.

Deathbird had no idea what a griffon was and so they decided to show her.

Flying along the cliffside, they came upon a cluster of deadly looking creatures that looked like a cross between a raptor and some sort of powerful and dangerous mammal. She shuddered at the grotesque concept of some kind of avian/mammal hybrid. What kind of strange world had she been brought to?

The Crimson Dynamo flew along with the Scorpion in tow. He had no idea where he should go and began to worry about power reserves. He had expended a great deal of power fighting off those giants and deformed creatures that looked like they might be products of the fevered imagination of the witch Baba Yaga.

The Crimson Dynamo realised he would need to recharge and the only place he knew to do that was the city they'd just fled. Somehow, they were going to have to sneak back into that city so that he could recharge.

The Scorpion objected. He had no desire to return to that conflagration. Those giants were immune to his poison. After some heated discussion the Scorpion finally realised he would need to replenish his poison reserves which had been depleted in the battle.

Reluctantly, the mismatched duo headed back the way they came.

Kirigi entered the hall that served as the headquarters for the Hand organisation. He had reluctantly agreed to an alliance with the Ogre Magi.

It appalled him to find that even after so many centuries, the Ogre Magi still had the ability to intinmidate him. He was normally fearless and the Hand's greatest warrior, but he was intimidated by a childhood memory.

It was difficult to resolve the issue that only the property of the Hand organisation existed here and the rest of Tokyo was absent. He wondered if the other cities in Japan had also been reduced to nothing but Hand properties as well?

He was feeling an odd emptiness. Never had Japan felt so desolate.

The Wizard/Warrior threw up his hands in a gesture of capitulation.

"I surrender! I was simply attempting to keep the peace in this city while I sought a means to eradicate hunger."

None of the X-men or Doc Samson believed his placations and Samson and the Beast moved in to disarm him. As they approached, he began a series of complicated hand gestures while muttering some incantations. Recognising what he was attempting, Storm dropped a lightning blast next to him which unsettled him enough to stop what he was doing.

Hank took a dangerous looking sword from him but quickly dropped it when he sensed the palpable evil that emanated from the weapon.

None of the X-men or Samson were willing to touch the sword and Hank finally ordered the man who'd brought such devastation on the city to throw the sword in a nearby dumpster. They locked him up in the city jail.

The citizens of the city had a tale of horror and devastation to tell of the past five days.

The city was occupied when the first of them arrived. The citizens had no idea what was happening and at first thought they're city had been transformed into a Hell on Earth.

Only a few of the citizen's had appeared on the first day. All the people who performed the menial tasks. Anybody who worked for minimum wage or had to wait on or serve the rest of the citizenry. They woke to an occupied city filled with voracious monsters.

At first the creatures attacked them. Women were raped, children were eaten, menfolk were slain or enslaved.

After this was allowed to continue for a half day, the man the X-men imprisoned brought some semblance of order. Any who were still living were rounded up and herded into pens for the pleasure of the occupying force. Some order was instigated and the chaos was turned into an orderly hell. It was clear that he was the one who had brought this conflagration on them.

The next day more citizens appeared, including law enforcement and members of the National Guard and ther military reserve. They tried to put up a resistance but only got killed for their efforts due to lack of organisation. Their weapons fell into the hands of their occupiers who barely understood their use.

Everyone began crying for salvation from the Justice Society of America but none of their heroes appeared. They couldn't understand it. Where were the heroes they'd relied on for most of their lives? What had happened to their orderly and safe lives?

The third day brought the ruling class of the city but there was nothing they could do as it was too late to organize a rebellion against the oppressors as they found themselves as helpless as the other citizens of the city and were sbjected to the same fate.

Because the heroic element that belonged to the city was absent, the city had drastically suffered.

The X-men and Doc Samson; who were from a different reality, were hailed as liberators and placed on a pedestal by the citizen's of Capital City.

As if the Enchantress didn't have enough problems, someone informed her that her green dragon guardian of the Bifrost bridge had abandoned his post.

"Impossible!" shouted Amora. Yet; sure enough, Beast Boy was nowhere to be found when she investigated. Cursing so vehemently that people fled from her ire, she returned to her quarters to conjure up some spells to substitute for the lack of a guardian.

Super Skrull, Paibok and Blastaar rushed into the ruling chamber to find a strange red hued alien threatening the Skrulls present. There was no sign of the Emperor and Kl'rt bristled at the sight of the two who had claimed the leadership of the Skrull empire.

For now though, his focus was on the spindly red alien that was making such ridiculous demands.

With Blastaar as backup, he felt confident of a positive outcome of a confrontation and he ordered an assault.

They successfully drove the interloper outside with the force of their assault.

The strange red alien began to look worried and retreated into the depths of space.

Triumphant, the Super Skrull, Paibok and Blastaar began to celebrate a victory.

Spiderman was nervous. He had welcomed the chance to fill in and cover for Hawk and Dove at Happy Harbor because the presence of Gwen Stacy was driving him crazy. He was a married man and he was being tempted by a woman he'd loved as much as Mary Jane who should be dead but wasn't. He didn't even know what Happy Harbor was but he was happy to go there, just to relieve the pressure.

The heroine called Yellowjacket was there but he grew adept at avoiding her and became comfortable patroling Happy Harbor.

The combined forces of Aim and Hydra were stalemated by the indigenous monsters of the archipelago. All their weaponry and they couldn't succesfully defeat the Fire Giants, Salamanders and Red Dragons. Some Efreeti had joined the creatures in battle and the combined terrorist organizations were unable to concentrate on anything but defense.

In fighting and the lack of effective leadership from either faction wasn't helping.

The Crimson Dynamo landed close to the city. He didn't want any problems to flare up until he'd found a way to recharge his armor. He was going to try to slip in and find a power source. The Scorpion wasn't happy about it but it was the only choice he had.

Oddly, they met no resistance as they reentered the city. All those grotesque humanoids and giants were either run off or they could see their bodies lying around the streets. The Crimson Dynamo found an empty building and slipped in to recharge. He asked the Scorpion to be lookout.

The two settled down to wait for the recharge to finish.
