As normalview points out, in math 'is' frequently translates as 'equals'.

In logic, 'is' translates as 'in the subset of'.

We weren't sure if the original post giving 'ships = characters' was intended to be an absolute statement, but...

So all ships are characters, and all characters are ships!

Don't forget that we've used many other terms in this very thread which indicate a one to one correspondence.
That's not to mention the answers in other threads using such terms as "synonymous" to again illustrate this fact.

They haven't caved on Gears, Halo, or Lord of the Rings yet. I think they're much more likely to yield on those before they yield on Tactics.

Just keep telling yourself, it's not much of a slope, and it really isn't all that slippery.

The GoW, Halo and LotR would not bother me overly much in Modern, but ST:T most definately would and I absolutely love ST:T so far.

Slope? Nah. Cramming ships into regular HC is, for me, falling off the damn slide completely and landing on some poor family picnicking near the safety railing.

That's the problem, they aren't supposed to be 100% compatible.


Where is that in the rules? It's nowhere now that you lot have defined ships and characters as being equivalent.

The fact that will be classifed as neither Modern nor Golden Age.

Any venue that adheres to the definitions of the Ages will not allow Star Trek to be played.


And don't think I haven't noticed that you have yet to apologize for the completely unwarranted attack earlier.

They ARE 100% compatible. They both use the same rules and the same numbers and the same colours in the same way. That's what compatible means.

Perhaps WK isn't actively encouraging the mixing of these game elements, but by making them compatible, there's no way to prevent it.

If WK had actively enforced that they not be interminglable through some sort of mechanical divide, well, by jove, they'd no longer be compatible.

Just sticking up for the proper definition of a misused word is all.

This does bring a question to mind, though. Will Tactics get its own Player's Guide or is it just going to be included in the Golden Age guide and you and the other deputies are just bracing yourselves for the deluge of "So Star Trek is Golden Age?" that will happen like when GoW, Halo and SF showed up in the Modern Age guide last time?

Unless plans have changed, any and all Heroclix products will be in the PG. If they are meant to be a certain Age (or no Age at all), they will be clearly marked as such.
