To be fair, once all the shouting and celebrating is done, Spain and Italy are still, you know, Spain and Italy. I bet either one of them would happily swap their team for Germany's 10-year benchmark bond rate.

I definitely feel like REVs and flight stands had a place, especially flight stands. To this day, it's rather obnoxious, just looking at a figure on the board if it can fly.
