When we're understaffed I usually end up having to do one or more people's jobs. Working a union job that's hard to get fired from and people like to take advantage of it. Just all sucks especially since the area I work is usually staffed at the bare minimum and other areas are over staffed. I am of the firm belief work sucks but is a necessary evil.

...and to show how stupid my company really is, one of the people on the disaster recovery team is unable to make it into work today, essentially stuck at home. He asked if he could just use his tools he was provided with that allow him to work at home to... work at home today. He was told he couldn't.
