Aw, what's wrong with Magic players?(aside from the obvious lack of true gaming skills, social tact, and proper hygiene). Yes, I have evidence of all three accusations. Though being asked if my stacks of poker chips were mana pools was downright funny.
Nothing, really. I was a Magic player for a long time. I'm just being facetious about a couple of guys who would not stop talking about the Lord of Tresserhorn. I kept thinking "Dude, that was Alliances. And can't you talk about any other cards?"
So, I have a female friend that, after I made a Zork reference, posted a paragraph long thing about Zork on the computer... and I think that might be the hottest thing I've seen in quite a while.
What is WRONG with me?!?
(Besides, well, a lot.)
Here, have some digital bewbs:

The Lord of Tresserhorn is a frequent and welcome guest in the royal houses of Europe, I'll have you know.
His affair with the Duchess of Hubendübel caused quite the stir, not to mention the duel with the Earl of Winterbottom-McRoyfitzblarney.

I wish I was being facetious. My clix venue needs cooler Magic players.
"Cooler" Magic players are hypercompetitive, maladjusted netdeckers who always seem to be one step away from flipping the table and coming to blows with their opponents. Trust me, you *want* uncool Magic players.

Yeah, I just...don't get it. Doesn't make "competitiveness" look like all that attractive of an impulse.

In the long, long ago, I actually used to run MtG tournaments. This was before WotC really started pushing structured organized play and prizes were stuff like store credit and not thousands of dollars in cash. And even then, you had the Dr. Briefcase guys who'd buy themselves crazy powerful decks and then completely lose their minds when some goofball (me, for example) would drop a Forked Shahrazad on them. Mind you, they'd still have the capacity to win, but it was almost like they didn't want it if it wasn't going to be a totally dominant victory that robbed their opponents of the desire to ever play the game again.

I have no idea what any of this means, no idea of what MtG entails or how it works, and I really really must say: it is true. Ignorance IS bliss.

This isn't a standardized test Zyxba. There is no right or wrong when it comes to opinion, but I'll try to humor you.
The only good thing about the prequel is that it relates to the original classic. The prequel doesn't have much merit as a stand alone film. Reasons it's better? Superior director. THE bass line. David Keith and Kurt Russell. Cheesy 80s special fx that still manage to look superior than the crappy looking CGI of the prequel. A real sense of terror and paranoia that the second film tries poorly to imitates.

Plus two of the best scenes that ever grace the silver screen: A head that grows spider legs and crawls away. The mixed feeling of hilarity and horror you get when you see Garry's face as he tries to hop up and down tied to couch, in futility, when he realizes that next to him is an alien parasite that wants to eat his face! Maybe its just me cause I'm a kid of the 80s, but that is just awesome stuff!
Thanks for sharing! While there's no standardized answer, there are definitely better answers than I don't like it. Dismissive answers are terrible for having a conversation. Personally, I loved the level of terror in the Prequel, especially with the scenes where they draw xenophobic lines in the sand, and where they check everyone for fillings.
Part of the draw for me personally is that both films are the rare kind of horror film that isn't full of morons. Characters reacting in non idiotic, human ways to the events of the film is pretty much a requirement for me to enjoy a horror film.

Yep, ran into this with WWE Raw Deal. Just obnoxious.
Seeing as how I wanted to just run a solid Booker T deck (not top-tier by any means), and not necessarily have to contend with World Championship meta, I generally just played with friends.

I tried playing it back in high school, but I never took to it. The mechanics of a game aren't enough for me, I have to give a #### about the characters I'm playing with/against.

That's why I love my gaming crew. It's merely an excuse to hang out. no one really cares if they win or lose.

We had that problem 17 years ago (god I feel old saying that) when two of the guys in my nerd group decided to buy themselves a win in Star Trek TCG (Decipher) and Rage (by White Wolf). It got ugly and we all quit playing together. It took me 7 more years to finally find the will go get the two uncompetetive guys back into a weekly routine. Competetive jerks ruin gaming.
