very excited for these. big kaiju fan. i do wish we could have gotten them in monpoc. i heard well over a year ago tim burton was set to work on a monpoc flick but privateer press ended up canning monpoc at some point. mayb this was the movie, just passed along to del torro and revamped like crazy?
Pretty ironic that I didnt read this and posted right after you haha.yea when I first saw this trailer the title wasnt there and that totally crossed my mind.
I love Privateer Press. But it wouldve been cool to sign MonPoc over to NECA, perhaps. While it is a sort of limited game as far as figures, its still one of the greats.

i agree. i really love monpoc. damn shame it ended. i still have my figs, all i need to do is find a willing opponent. no one has shown interest here. very upsetting. mayb the film will peak interest.
Its a comic-book game. Dr. Doom shrunk them or made a smaller clone to fit inside the Baxter Building/Avengers Tower. -Shrugs-
The Trek Clix scale to scale still bugs me but these are fine by me.
so if they made all the big figs we have now all the same size as our normal figs you would have been ok with that?? master mold was only on a one inch dial as well as the bug you would have been ok with that??? if not then you should not be ok with this.
Start Trek ships should not be compatible at all with hero clix.... you know how stupid it looks going up against a team that has the enterprise spiderman and batman on a team??? but why is ok for these big robots to be the same size as a normal human in scale but not ok for the trek ships??
Giant robots? Giant Monsters?! done and done, someone's been raiding my childhood again.
Seriously these look really cool.
So far I like what Guillermo Del Toro does in movies so I will probably even back the movie, should be fun.
Might be fun if they release some web exclusive colossal versions if the line does well, but Giants don't get a lot of play lately so Im glad they went that route.
Losing tournaments since IG round 3, and making it look good!
Wizkids rep "but it still wont be Transformers. Sorry guys"
Just resign yourself to the fact that it will never be Transformers.
Hasbro owns Transformers. Hasbro owns Wizards of the Coast.
Hasbro competes with NECA and Wizards of the Coast competes with WizKids.
Barring some corporate buyouts, there's no reason for Hasbro to ever license Transformers to WizKids/NECA. If they decide that they want to do a miniatures game, they can tell WotC to get on it.

All the hostility aside...I still think putting a fleet of Ships up against Galactus would be cool to see haha. But otherwise I agree with you on the scale issue ...however, it is what it is. The game is for fun.
Honestly, I expect the movie to be dumber than "Giant Rocky Balboa vs Giant Ahnuld." I also expect the laws of physics and common sense will be left torn and tattered at the ridiculously large feet of impossibly large combatants. But I suspect that it will still be more fun than a giant barrel of giant monkeys.
And, even if it isn't, I still think the Clix versions will be fun to play.
May all your hits be crits!
On the whole, human beings want to be good — but not too good, and not quite all the time. - George Orwell
The monsters and mechs just look so generic. I see nothing compelling about this film. And the clix are as off putting, scale wise, as the Star Trek ships. Tiny mechs and kaiju or GIANT SUPERHEROS.
Don't get me wrong. I'm sure someone somewhere wanted this and I'm glad for that person they got them. But that person ain't me.
And I'm a fan of Kaiju in general and even though there hasn't been much lately in the giant monster genre. This just ain't doin' it for me.
I play Heroclix, Pathfinder, and retro video games on Twitch!

Nemsis? Absolutely. He never should have been a colossal.
But for someone as stuck on scale as you seem to be, how can you rationalize SI Dum Dum? Or Crisis Nightwing? Or IH001? And what about those TabbApps?
If I were making these pieces, I would think that my players probably wouldn't want to spend 89.95 for a 4-5 foot tall figure with a base larger than any map.
Assuming that I could get any of my retail partners to put a display of 24 such figures in their stores.
For most licenses it isn't a big deal because most licenses contain a "normal" person. Anything else in the line, like a Hobbit or a Grunt, for a couple of examples, is more-or-less scaled in comparison to that person.
If there were no normal people, however, then they default to a "standard" size.
Just like the Trek ships, these guys are built for themselves.
The Jaegers and the Kaiju (I hope that they have team abilities...) can square off against each other and not require a gameplay area that would force the players to find a large empty field somewhere.
And hey! Bonus! If someone wants to, they can use these same figures and same dials in their Heroclix games alongside Superman, Spider-Man, Master Chief, the U.S.S. Enterprise, and whatever other pieces they may have and like to play together.
But only if they want to.
And if you have such a problem with it, if you think that everything has to be in scale with everything else, then feel free to leave them on the shelf for the next person.

Bingo.

It's easier to smush these down into H-scale games without the brain implosion ships cause because they're proprietary characters from a brand new (and easily worked-around) license. It's hard to justify a tiny Enterprise because it's The Enterprise. Here, though, they can honestly and WAY easily just be rad-ass monsters and robots. Just, you know, forget the 'giant' word. I will almost assuredly never use the vehicular tokens in a golden age game, but these things? No problem.
Human sized minis based on colossal sized robots and monsters, no thanks. Should've been made for Monsterpocalypse. If they were I would've had to change my shorts. As it is, you can keep em, especially when they didn't make all the kaiju.
Now I am wondering if Wizkids will ever make an agreement with Toho to have Godzilla and friends in Heroclix?
If so I would totally run these guys against them for fun. just run their own games on maps of destroyed cities or wastelands...so the entire scale thing would be no biggy. And it would have to cover the ENTIRE Godzilla run of monsters. Makes me want to start making dials.
Many forms of Godzilla. Classic, 90s, Meltdown, and 2000
Cosmics like Ghidora, Gigan, and Space Godzilla
All the mechs- MechaGodzilla(diff forms), Counter-G, and Jet Jaguar
And the real nasty foes like Heddorah and DESTROYAH! Lol
Yea they could totally pull that off. The scale thing isnt an issue for me if I have a map that fits them and I can just play them by themselves.
