Most Will Ferrell movies I either can't stand or have him as not the main character. I still love Stranger Than Fiction though, and the Candidate was actually pretty fun I thought.

I actually own Anchorman and still have yet to watch it because Farell had gotten to the point of grating. He has moments - I consider "Night at the Roxbury" a guilty pleasure even though I know it's pretty lousy (I think it's because I saw it back to back with the remake of "House on Haunted Hilll" so seeing Chris Kattan in two dissimilar movies like that made each stick a bit more). I also thought Megamind was a lot of fun but, overall, he's an actour that a little bit goes a long way. (I have debated watching "Everything Must Go" or what ever is the title of the film where he's selling all of his belongings after divorce.)
Carell, on the other hand, I will forgive time and again - "Date Night" - because when he's on, whether comedy or drama, he's really on his A game. I've seen him in bad movies but never seem him do badly. Plus there just seems something genuine about him.

Will Ferrell is good when its not all about Will Ferrell.
He did a stand up comedy routine where he portrayed George W Bush I remember that being surprisingly funny besides that and Mastermind I don't care for movies.
Watched Talladega Nights recently.
Was decent I guess.
Only reason I've seen Talladega Nights - points to it for Gary Cole (The Midnight Caller; please tell me others remember that show for more than just the episode "After It Happened" - and, sadly, own it, is because it came with the first releases of PS3s.
In retrospect, maybe that should've made me hope against BluRay's success.
