I hated it even when I was a kid. But I just KEPT WATCHING IT!!

I'm watching it now. It wasn't great but the Robot was awesome. It could be great if they retooled it and redid the concept. Tone down Dr. Smith's comedy and make him sinister again and bring on cooler villains and monsters. Alien races need to interesting and recurring.

But the robot needs to look almost like he did in the original.

The movie did most of this. It's widely hated, but I really liked it.

The series actually started out OK and then got much worse as it went.

Yeah the first season was best, when it was straight up adventure. They let Jonathan Harris start dictating the direction of the show. That's when it started going downhill.

I didn't mind the movie but the robot's look departed too far from the original. At least Dick Tufeld was used for the robot's voice again.
