My 401k had to transfer, and apparently - in 20 ####ing 15 - they still have to cut a check and mail it to the other company. So my life's savings have vanished as of the 18th, and are in the mail somewhere!!

To make matters worse I have a lone out against it so if my moneys don't resurface correctly the IRS is going to destroy me...

I just finished Ready Player One by Earnest Cline. It is pretty good. Best book I think I have read in a few years.

The big TV in the house went on the fritz on Saturday. I had just hooked up the sound bar I picked up recently and was sitting and watching Birdman. In the middle of the movie, the TV just turns itself off. I tried to turn it back on but it would have none of it. A quick internet search revealed to me that the flashing light on the front of the TV was indicating that it needed service.

Not wanting to blind-side a drunken father, I gave him a call at the bar to tell him what was up. He tells me he'll be home. When he gets home I tell him the good news on the deal I found for the replacement VT (same model at about half of what we paid for it 5 years ago) and he says, "We're not replacing it. We're upgrading it." I try to talk him out of it but he'd made up his mind. So we went from a 55' 1080 to a 65' 4K. He still doesn't think it looks any clearer or any larger.
