I think that at least one of the Merc. regiments should be involved in a campaign. The Mercs arnt the cream of the crop when it comes to playability, but lets not forget about them.
Im gonna be so sick if I see any more cats campaigns Gren. Also its been so stinking long since the Dragons had a campaign. Stormhammers deserve it most but Dragons second. Id love for a DF vs SH campaign, two old enemies (and my 2 fav factions) squaring off sounds like a blast. SH also need way more LEs. Im also praying that someday Ill see a Fafnir on the SH unit list. Most powerful mech Eva IMO.
(February) HL vs RotS - Clouded Visions
Acting on information from agents within the Highlanders, Republic Knights led by (insert name of spiffy Knight LE here) have descended on (insert name of backwater planet here) where Highlander forces, led by (insert name of crappy Highlander LE piece here) are busy trying to mobilize foot troops against a possible Liao (or Swordsworn, or Storm Hammer) strike, and debating going mercenary once again. The cream of the Sphere faces off with the best that Northwind has to offer.
( NOTE : The RotS force would have to include at least one Knight, the Highlanders would have to use at least 200pts of infantry in every battle. )
(March) SH vs RotS - Hammer Strike
With their failure to take the Mech plant on Irian, Republic troops led by (insert name of semi-spiffy non-Knight Republic piece here) have decided to throw their lives away with a desperate strike to liberate Towne. The garrisoning Storm Hammer forces, led by the disreputable (insert name of not terribly good but very flavorful LE here) are not about to let their dearly won prize be taken away so easily, and so lay a trap for the Republicans.
( NOTE : This would feature some of the cracked rules from the SS vs SW campaign, such as a battle where the deployment zones for the RotS are halfway up the field, the SH get three turns before the RotS get one, and the SH are required to deploy at least 100pts of artillery. )
(April) DF vs L - Sword and Dragon
With news of the 'Mech plants location spreading, House Liao diverts forces from a major offensive against the Swordsworn to Irian, in a move to snatch the factory away before the Dragon's Fury can put it to any kind of real use. In order to ensure that no hamr comes to the factory, however, the Liao commander (insert name of super over powered Liao LE here) has challeneged the Fury commander (insert name of the first Marauder II LE for DF here) to decide the fate of all in a series of single-combat matches.
( NOTE : Solaris-style campaign, fought with a few modifications. )
(May) SH vs SH - A House Divided
Factions loyal to the ideals of Skye, led by (insert name of semi-decent Storm Hammer LE here) incite a revolt amongst the ranks, trying to return the Storm Hammers to the ideals upon which the Isle of Skye was founded. Steiner-loyal elements, led by the ruthless (insert of name of very slow, very bad heat dial, way too much damage for too high cost Storm Hammer LE here), move to crush them, in a fight that can only turn out badly.
( NOTE: Best way to see if a factions strengths and weakness are really in balance is to play it against the faction that could most take advantage of it. In the case of the SH, that faction is themselves. )
That puts everyone but the Mercs at 3, more or less (really it's only 2 for the SH, but they fight on both sides in one, so that counts as 3 in my brain). Of course, WK would never see any of those reasons for factions to fight each other as anything even close to probable. But they're big business, and I'm jaded.
I would say wolves versus stormhammers. For a storyline, both are smarting over their loss of the mech factory, and are not the kind that take loss well. Both have commanders that need to continue to win to prove their personal worth.
Looking to take advantage of the chaos Liao is causing on one side of the Republic, they both cast around for a planet to aide them. Nusakan is vauled for its electronics, can be reached by the Wolves from Thorin, and puts them within striking distance of Skye itself. The wolves select it as its next target. Unfortunately, the StormHammers see Nusakan as a key to their strategy to take Skye also, and a conflict ensues.
Cool world - lots of mountains and seas. Imagine a battle where most of the board was shallow water, except for a deep center well and an island or two (as a DZ).

I think Stromhammers Vs Dragons Frury Story The Lyran comenwealth and the Draconius Combine are arguably each outhers most bitter rivals and I think that Jasek Kelswa-Steiner would go to almoust any lengths to stop the Dragons form capitalising on their victory in the faction wars
personallyt, I ma tired of seeing campaigns of factions i could car eless about. you know, factions like ROTS, Liao, SS. I would actually like to see a DF, SW, or BR campaign soon.
I dont understand while the Dragons have been content to sit on their hands for so long. Second to SH, we need a DF campaign. Time to put that new mech factory to use.

don't the marquee's count as campaigns? Or how about all of those single battle tourneys?
it was SH Vs. a merc company, (I can't remember which one) for the battle of towne, ROTS has had at least 3 of those individual battles, such as Liao Velvet, among others.
Those are storyline events, do they count toward the feature total?
What about the ROTS vs SW marquee where you got mason dunne as the prize?
Am I incorrect in my assumptions here? If so then please ignore this post.
