I'm not too worried about the Bannson model... if you read the flavor text they stated that this thing used a standard internal structure rather than the heavy double strength structure of other industrial mechs.
Given that the Industrials with their reinforced internal structures have only 7-9 clicks for a Bannson's unit, I'd wager these things are going to have fewer clicks than most HL or SC Infantries.
I'm just going to think of them as expensive cruise missiles since just the damage they'd take from doing a charge will probably be enough to salvage them.
All the complaining about it being an ice mech with high end equipement....in the flavor text it says that it was developed as a battlemech, but they couldnt get a working fusion engine, so they had to put in an ice.
I think its cool, and its bannsons, so Im happy :)
We already knew CS was going to be THE ChargeMonkey set. Draddog already stated (in the Q and A for Draddog... thread) that the set had been in development for months and focused primarily on close-combat 'Mechs. We can't expect any changes, much less those based on current feedback from the community, until the set after CS at the earliest, possibly even the set after that.
Originally posted by TW1Kell cool Mech, appearance and all, but gawd, how many of these KILLER units do we have to have? Compare that attack, Defense, etc, and you would think that ALL light Mechs are CLAN Invasion Era CLAN ASSAULT Mechs! I do notice that the Wolves did not get one. I guess that means now we get to fight against ANOTHER pet Faction? Hmm....Donars, The Charge Monkey, perfect heat dials, sounds like typical SC, BR, or DF stuff to me. Come on WK, there are factions besides SC, BR, and DF, are there not?
Frankly, I'm glad that the Steel Wolves aren't getting this unit. The sculpture is interesting enough, except for the leaf blower and the hedgetrimmer, and I really don't like the fact that it's an ICE 'Mech. So as far Far as I'm concerned, it's one less reason to buy boosters.
Ok My turn :)
Well well well a interesting turn No?
I Like it, even though I'm a SW all the way I still Like it.
And for the most part see the stats along the lines of 1-2 damage primary And 3-4 secondary.
The fluff talks about the ineficient Cannons so even with a 11 to hit it still may only do 1 point ap.
The best example is the Sherman Tank as listed before where GM(Not Ford they made planes) cranked out thousands of M-4's and later M-24 Chafee's. And they EXPECTED to lose 3 for every Panzer taken out.
Even better yet look at them as a civil war line of infantry. Where they fire at range then as they close drop the muskets to go hand to hand. Army building just got that much more interesting.

The BR version (not surprisingly) looks very good for its size, and the scupt itself rocks. Customizers (especially those of you lucky/rich enough to have an extra Madcat and Warhammer they don't need) will want to look at my quick MS Paint mods:
All I have to say is: weird; a +1 (or who knows) on the heat dial... that is almost wrong. :devious:. Very :devious: if you can figure out how to use it correctly.
I like the idea and implementation of this new BATTLEMECH. So what if it has an ICE engine, it was designed as a battlemech with battlemech systems and equipment. For all intents and purposes it is a battlemech. Man, people complain about anything and everything. It will be nice to see a non-unique/non-LE with an attack higher than 10. I just hope this bodes well for the real battlemechs in the set.
Anyone else think that the body and arms are modified Dasher II parts?
Man wizkids. You guys really suck at keeping your fiction straight. You imply that the Republic will be the sole users of TSM and then go and slap it on several different factions.
What gets me is that everyone is acting like this is a new idea??
CBT has the rules for creating a Battlemech with an ICE power system. I actually used one in a campaign a couple of years ago. The story line behind the unit was very similar. World in the middle of nowhere trying to copy Battlemechs running into the problem of those #### Fusion engines. And it does fit in so well with the Darkage idea of the story line. I love this machine. None for the factions I play but well I can live with that. Just hope to see more alone these lines.
