Well, the Falcons can be pretty sharp when they're under the impression that Spheroids are mocking them, read this thread. And hey, even trueborns have to shave. Apparently this is especially the case with the female trueborn Jade Falcon warriors. That's Clan biotechnology for you.

Understatement of the year. A good joke is wasted on a Clan vatborn soldier. A good book too, by the way. Or a nice concert. Do Clan warriors even drink? Is it true that a Clan warrior is nothing more but optimalized cannon fodder? If that's the case, I pity them. But if they attack the planet which I'm supposed to defend, that won't stop me from using every dirty & underhanded tactic which has been developed in more than thousand years of mechanized warfare.
Surprisingly enough many Clan warriors actually DO take up arts as forms of relaxation and meditation. The Ghost Bear trueborn for example each take up a "Great Work", a masterpiece of some kind of art (music, painting, sculpture, literature) that they work on throughout their entire career. Of course most of these focus on either a glorified vison of warfare or the totems of each clan. For example, a group of trothkin (Ghost Bear term for purebred warriors who came from the same sibko and gene-combo, could technically be called brothers and sisters) created a giant bronze statue of a Leviathan class battleship like the ones used to move the entire Clan to the Inner Sphere. If I remember correctly Khan Martha Pyrde of the Jade Falcons, one of the most ardent crusaders you'll ever see, was quite a good painter. Anastasia Kerensky has pretty much put away the myth that clanners dont drink.
Trueborn warriors believe in perfection, and the arts is just another area in which they seek to excel and leave their everlasting mark on Clan history. They're not inhuman (most denounced the Smoked Jaguars when they orbital bombarded Turtle Bay), they just don't hold too much weight in individual liberties over the will of the whole.
BTW, Trueborns are fairly big into casual sex, though to them it is just fellow warriors sharing something intimate in the name of close friendship without all the emotional stuff we would normally attach to it.
Speaking in the game sense, and bypassing the storyline for a bit, am I the only one that thinks the Falcons are going to be crippled in their first release? I really do not see them doing anything important until at least the second set they are in. Even the Republic would have the upper hand against them...not saying there is a problem with the Republic, but Wizkids has been trying to screw them over for a while, it seems.
Thanks for your reaction, Lobo. You've made the Clan's trueborn warriors look more human. Still I have the idea that Clan Jade Falcon is pretty much comparable to House Liao when it comes to stubborn fanaticism.
Lovely thread... I was already afraid this place was lacking something like this... Too bad I came here too late...
Just a small correction lobo... Trothkin is not a ghost bear term, but rather a clan term... and the explanation you gave is more fitting for sibkin. Throtkin would refer to extended family and refers thus to every other warrior of the clan usually... bit like cousins.
Another correction is that the Smoke Jaguars themselves denounced the orbital bombardment, as the officer in charge acted without the approval of the Smoke Jaguar's clan council . As such he was discharged from command and was trialed.
Nanhold, I guess you never heard that the hairy ones are the best. Too bad for you. I like my fellow vat women warriors hairy. As far as being cannon fodder, you actually got a chuckle out of me on that. I doubt seriously you were serious. It is just more spheriod babbling to give themselves false courage.
In MWDA terms, most likely the Falcons will not have many units, that is probably true. All we really need to be competitive is a few Mechs and some elementals, especially if the elementals can ride on the Mechs like they are supposed to. In that case, it will be sweet to see your worlds fall under our mighty banner.
