Id like to see Steiner and davion call me old fassion but more Fed-Com Civil war Goodness :) And while they fight <_< The wolves and falcons could sneak in the back door and RETAKE TERRA FOR THE STAR LEAGUE!
A pirate group would be great. I think it is possible that the Bannsons faction may be going to split up, half merging with Liao, and half splitting away under One-Eyed Jack Farrell. I haven't read the book he's in, but I was told he was presented as a very mercenary-like character that wasn't interested in politics.
If it went that way, then the pirate group could easily keep the BR trait of no salvage-markers. Pirates like that are experts at salvaging absolutely anything, and jury-rigging stuff that anyone else would toss on the scrapheap. This could also provide a plot idea for bringing in Clan Sea Fox. Since they are primarily a merchant force, they would definitely run into this BR pirate spinoff, and come hunting for them.

redeye ryan's daughter attacked a planet in the mechwarrior novel "Ghost of Winter". they're still around (she had a Timber Wolf)
the WOBbies are still around, a shadow of their former selves lurking in the former FWL searching for a "new technology"
Dragons Fury is NOT necessarily allied with the DracComb..the dossier specifically says that Tormark is not likely going to cooperate with the current Kuritas who she thinks are weak and don't follow Bushido.
Comstar has pulled an entire 100+ division army out ot thin air in order to fight the Clans on Tukkiyad and later. The ComGuard started off as 'merc units guarding their facilities' but were absorbed later. I'm sure they still ahve stashes on terra and tukkiyad not to mention motheballed mech plants on both planets, still unhtouched Castle Brians and who, besides Stone himself knows where he hid all those decommisioned mechs. no one ever suggests that those mechs traded in for land or citizenship were ever destroyed, just taken out of the hands of the masses. On top of that, Stone let them continue to control the HPG stations when he had absoulte power. Thye seem pretty buddy-buddy wiht the Knights of the Republic. So why couldn't
they suddenly field an army to put the IS to shame. they've done it before.
I personally have already resurrected my old ComGuard unit, the 79th Division "The Steel Viper Trainers" of the 4th Army. My white and gold Tundra Wolf, Nova, rfleman, Black Knight, Phoenix Hawk, and Locust stand a-ready along with a Level II's worht of Purifier and IS Battle Armor.

Well, the Nova Cats joined the fledgling Star League and settled in the Draconis Combine. Kurita set them up with their own prefecture. When the Jihad hit, they were still there. Afterwards, some of them left to go join Devlin Stone when he established the Republic. Most of them joined the Spirit Cats faction when Kev Rosse declared them. As far as I know, they're still in the Draconis Combine...

AS well as most reseens and unseens see very common use among FWL units.
Not to pull teeth here but the FWL is also known for the Tempest. Or at least with most of the people i talk to. Now that would be a 'Mech to see in this game, a GR and 4 pulse lasers.
I think House Davion should make an apperance. along with House Kurita and House Steiner. As for Marik, sorry, they fractionalized beyond all hope, so a faction like Marik Hegemony may work for them.
I dunno, the Orientee is taking alot of old FWL space from the ROTS, which I don't like mind you, but Jessica Halas (Marik) might be able to pull three or four of the old provinces together, and if not, I'm sure Fontaine Brett-Marik, or one of Isis's descendants could pull it off, its not against all hope just because four of the old provinces want reformation, they just want there leader, to be the leader, lol.
Although I agree that the FWL needs to be brought in in some capacity as they are the only original house not to be represented by either a faction or have their armies invade, I chose House davion mainly because I don't feel the swordsworn are an acurate representation of then. Historically, house davion hase favored autocannon's over other high heat weapon's and has gone to great lengths to make their autocannon's more effective. (RAC's, Specialized ammo...). Autocannons are also the most heat efficient weapons in CBT... so why do the swordsworn overheat like they are stuck in an arizona desert without any coolant? Makes no sense to me. I get the feeling the SS are going to split though anyway... Aaron and Erik won't deal well with each others company for much longer... so make one or the other bring in real house davion forces
