the cats' whining about this set is unjustified, I see plenty of playable units all around. This coming from a SSw player who uses all of his mechs. Put a smile on and learn how to use them in all their glory, besides just your power pieces.

Another unjustified, it seems the cats now like especially complaining about set retirement. Well, lets see... we get (I believe) another expansion and (definately) another BASE SET before retirement kicks in. Not only that, but EVERYONE ELSE will lose many of their stuff as well. No, it's not fair to say "but we had better stuff than everyone else back then!"

so please... STOP SOUNDING LIKE RETIREMENT IS only GOING TO DESTROY YOUR OWN FACTION! it's not going to destroy anyone, much less a single faction.

If the stats I saw on the display piece at Origins, no SC player is going to be happy with the piece. I remember a feeling of disappointment when I put it in the case and noticed it's numbers.

this mech would really look better with 12 IT and 24 hardened.

we're asking for a SC warhammer. a 2 14 inch energy attacks and a 270 arc and 9IT and 22 def in exchange for half that armour would be more inline with SC traits without producing a broken figure.

What SC mechs have IT? None spring to mind...Im sure there are some, but I sure cant think of any.

How is that in line with the SC?

@Narcissus. Agreed. I bought a full case of DA, FFE. By the time DFA was about to come out I was starting to question if it was really worth buying a case but I am an aviation nut so just HAD to get a case of DFA. Since then though I have learned my lesson and have not only not bought a case since then ¡K I¡¦ve hardly bought boosters in general. Ebay is all powerful *bows before it*. I can¡¦t imagine how much I musta saved from just getting the pieces I need rather than mindlessly blowing huge wads of cash on getting more cases. Is it fun to rip open a full case? Yeah sure ¡K kinda feels like Christmas. ƒº Is it worth it? No ... hasn¡¦t been for a long time now.

@mlotoole. I have to agree. I was looking forward to FP helping to restabilize the game. But more and more it¡¦s looking like it is going in exactly the opposite direction of where it should. Lower defense mechs. 3 pog arty. Ultra-high defense tanks. VTOL infantry. Groans. If FP isn¡¦t the set that seals this games fate then the next base set certainly will be that final step before you reach the cliff. They better dwell over the composition of that set and its figures VERY carefully or ebay is gonna get rich from sellers fees as everyone dumps their stuff.

@cedrictheblack. I wouldn¡¦t be surprised to see the CBA make a return. Though I wouldn¡¦t be surprised if WK pulled a shocker and didn¡¦t give SC their CBA or Shock Troopers back. One thing I¡¦d bet $ on is you will likely NOT see hoverbikes return. They were just far too efficient at playing base-n-break (which ultimately degrades the power of mechs severely).

i can't understand why everybody is so angry about that mech
if i recall the last HL uniques, 2 mechs come to my mind..Leala Banach(which is a worse version of Eriabee Childs) and Melicien Tetro(which is probably the worst assault mech ever...)
back in Liao Incursion or Counter Assault, i'd have sold my right arm for a mech like that warhammer
9 attack..so what? better a steady 9 than a fast dropping 10(i could name a lot of mechs who suffer from this disadvantage...)
it's got an incredible punch(don't tell me 4 pulse is low damage) and a lot of armor
it's a very decent mech which might shine in semi-competive environment(in hardcore competive environment, nobody puts 240+ in one unit)

Im thinking it STARTS at a 9 attack- this is where WK trys to sell us on the units.
And with the importance of first strike a dropping 10 could be better than a steady 9- you'll get the first hit in at least.

This is just another Kevin Nostra, same design same points.
He'll lose in comparison to Marat,Angus, Declan, any thunderbolts or any other SC ~250 fatties(They have some good cheap fatties)

@Prydefalcon-Unless retirement just removes the chaff there will be some good important pieces lost, especially for the first 6 factions. With 2.5 sets dedicated to supporting them (DA,FFE, and half of DFA that wasnt SH & ROTS) there bound to have something not reprinted in the new base set. And if they're just yanking the bad pieces why retire at all- most people dont play them competively anyway.

My fave part is the 12" weapons range for LONG DISTANCE warfare.

Now with the SC Sun Cobra and Marauder both with 16" weapons range-why on earth would I play this fig?

It is gonna be trashed real quick on the battlefield.

That's alot of points to sink into a guard for your dzone.

It will at least give the Salvage "mechs something to do...
