As the only one to have mentioned robotics, I figure this is directed at me: I'm not hating at all. Guess I should have posted the obligatory "OMGLOOKSSOAWESOME" post, or something. Oh, well. In any case, I do think it looks cool, and I'm looking forward to seeing the full thing. I may find the unrealistic parts humorous, but that doesn't mean I can't overlook them to enjoy a fictional setting ;)

They sorta (kinda) retconned this a little actually. That's maximum combat speed, and incorporates the mechs dodging and weaving to avoid fire. There's a level 3 rule where you can 'Dash' and travel much faster, but you're a lot easier to hit as you're basically running in a straight line.

So, because Mechwarrior is going to get a movie, I cannot have my own advice???

It's not because they are releasing a mechwarrior movie everyone that likes mechwarrior has to jump of their seats and running naked in the streets shouting "mechwarrior is getting a movie, mechwarrior is getting a movie"

I do have my own criterias for judging if some things look good or bad
I never said the movie is #### because the animations look wrong to me, it's a student movie anyway, they cannot obtain huge amount of perfectness.
I'll say it's #### after viewing it and only if I believe that it is ####
and where did I tried to impress someone with robotics??? huh? I just talked about MW4 because i believe they quite got the feeling of mech movement
and no sorry, I won't be geeking out because they release a movie about something I like, I'll be geeking out when I find that the movie responds to my likings AFTER viewing it, not BEFORE.
Same goes for 40K, if one day they make a movie about this, I'll be extremely afraid of watching one of my favourite universe turned into a big joke because 'nids, marines, chaos feel wrong in their prestations

I believe that's correct... In digging around on Mainframe's website, there was no mention of it in their projects section, nor a mention anywhere in their news archives... The first suggests that it's probably dead, but the second I find much more puzzling... Why wouldn't it have even been announced on the company website, like their other projects had been?

I am currently looking at a copy of Solitude and the Atlas in the trailer is not Solitude. But there is also the fact that the animation in the trailer may have been completed before WK had a completed sculpt. WK "version" has a black and red paint scheme with gold on the shoulders and the ROTS symbol on the left shoulder and an unknown (Exarch ?)symbol on the right. There is nothing on the "knee pads" to denote who is piloting the mech or what rank they are.

Yup, the atlas is not Levin's. Solitude has red, bt not as much as the trailer version.

Saw the trailer just now (QT's not installed in my workstation), and wow, it's so dope. To those who use a lot of WH, be proud. I like the WH Mangonel, wonder who's the pilot.

I saw that when they were casting actors, they were looking for someone to play a "Paladin Otto Mandela". He is probably the guy piloting the Atlas. I think his mech is called Big Easy. (Because of an Example line - Quote - "I have a short company deploying around the Spaceport outskirts. Big Easy is right outside.")
