Whoa, I missed a good deal of comics. Some of this sounds AWESOME! The one thing I'm wondering about, is what's the story behind this Duela Dent!? The last name says she's Harvey's kid or something, but her identity is Joker's Daughter!?! Adopted I'm guessing? Can someone fill me in on this one?
This is what I'm looking forward to for the Inmates:
New Riddler
New Joker
SOLOMON GRUNDY!
Psycho Pirate
Dr. Destiny
Bizarro
Batzarro
Clayface (all of them)
New Penguin
I was also thinking. Superman could do cosmic-surge. He could have a regular ability than gets an ADDITIONAL bonus when his cosmic-surge effect kicks in! It just might work.
Wiki'd: Delusional and schizophrenic, the mysterious Harlequin has been in and out mental institutions for several years. An acrobat who possesses numerous "clown-motif" gadgets, she has been called Duela Dent, but her true identity remains unknown.
Her first significant Post-Crisis appearance was in the Team Titans comic book, as a patient in a mental hospital. The writers of the title planned originally to reveal that Harlequin was a time traveling member of the Team Titans who had gone insane from the shock of time travel and her separation from her fellow Team Titan cell members.
Due to the cancellation of the series, plans for her to return to the team in a storyline where she steals a reality-altering device and warp New York City back to a replica of the late 1970s version of itself were aborted. However, the final issue of Team Titans jokingly solicited the story as occurring in Team Titans #25, as a final joke towards its cancellation.
Duela joins the Teen Titans.Harlequin next aided the Titans during the Technis Imperative, when Cyborg's automated system sought out all Titans allies, past and present. Although she was still in a mental institution at the time, Duela was rescued by Cyborg and helped battle the Justice League for Cyborg's soul. Following this she made a brief appearance in a bar in Titans Secret Files #1, insisting to anyone who would listen that the Titans would soon be contacting her about membership. She also claimed she was the daughter of Doomsday.
Duela's next appearance would be in the Titans Secret Files #2, in a backup story in which Gar's obnoxious cousin Matt decided to hold a membership drive for the new version of Teen Titans West, "Titans L.A." Harlequin crashed the official meeting-turned-party with a small group of villains, including Beast Boy's enemies Fear and Loathing, simply because she hadn't been invited. Flamebird and Terra defeated her and returned her to The Helping House Mental Institution in Industry, California. No explanation was given as to where she found the dangerous villains that aided her party-crashing.
In the same comic, a feature on former Titans stated that all her claims as to who her father was had been disproved, except one. No further information was given.
Duela appears in the alternate future storyline "Titans Tomorrow".In a short story contained in the Teen Titans/Outsiders Secret Files #2, Duela is inexplicably socializing with several villains on their secret satellite headquarters. In this short back-up tale, Duela makes a handful of wild claims as to her parentage, all of which are dismissed by the non-plussed villains. The only new wrinkle added to her tale in this story was a claim that she had been resucitated by the lazarus pit and, most interestingly, that her mother may actually be the villainous parent she has always claimed.
Duela returned to action alongside almost every former Titans member against Dr. Light in Teen Titans (vol. 3) and again in Infinite Crisis #4 and Teen Titans #32 against Superboy-Prime.
One Year Later, it was mentioned that both the Joker's Daughter and the Riddler's Daughter were members during the lost year gap. Currently, she is a member of the splinter group Titans East, with writer Geoff Johns stating "Yeah. We're going to really get into her. Tony [Daniel] did an amazing redesign on the Joker's daughter for Titans East." [1]

Hello flaming walnut the history of Duela Dent appear in a really old comic called batman family and in the 60s Teen Titans comics (and later she became a member of Titans East), and about of her identity that is her first superhero/supervillian persona but in all her years of existance she posibility claimed to be the daughter of any supervillian in DC universe (exept Two-Face) that include Joker's Daughter, Catgirl, Scarecrone, Riddler's Daughter, Penguin's Daughter, Doomsday's Daughter (OMG)
but no truly be a daughter of any of them
Cosmic as TS' theme sucked on the whole, unless you count Strange Visitor who actually deserved it.
Invulnerability should have been on all the key Team Superman members as a keyword and not something you have to earn through protection and other ####. Movement is a given, because nearly everyone has Superspeed in one form or another.
Better locations too, I especially like your idea on what Krypton could be, with it's activation cost a replacement or KO of the said Location.
The Fortress of Solitude should be given a makeover.
Wonder Woman and Batman on TS. Dual Affiliated.
You are not the only one hoping for Team Superman to make it good in this set.
I totally agree with you about Invulnerability. All non-electric versions of Superman and Supergirl should have had it. Superboy wasn't invulnerable per se, so I'm okay with him not having it. What's more, they should be able to give Invulnerability to anyone they are protecting. Team Supes should have Invulnerability all over the place!
I am all about TS having movement too. They already have some pretty decent movement, but they need lots more of it. It really helps the weak protection theme too.
Team Superman should be one of the most powerful teams out there. And they can be a good team even with some of the poor themes they got stuck with. They just need to get lots of support for their good themes.
They could always say its not from TV but rather issue 23 I believe it was of Superman/Batman (Superman ends up in Batman Beyond universe and Batman ends up in Red Son universe).
However most of that run and the alternate universes contained were caused by Mxyzptlk's machinations [and Emperor Joker/Joker+Batmite Hybrid]
Just like the nudge/wink Marvel characters that were used in a Squadron-esque fashion [right down to the reveal which mirrors the Squadrons first appearance as Mxy and Joker play chess with the heroes and villains]
So, whether or not it's 'official' enough to see it's way into the set is up to them. Considering it's a World Finest set, it would be cool to include some of the alternate reality stuff included in the Supes/Bat mini.
Also ... they HAVE to make the Composite Superman with the combined powers of the Legion! And a slight green tinge. And a ridiculous costume. Again, not sure how Superman + Batman = Combined Power of the entire Legion of Super Heroes ... but hey, maybe that's just me.
But tying into stuff like the Emperor Joker storyline, and the times where Lex got involved in Bruce's busines [and vice versa] would also be cool.
Also, if they are taking notes from recent issues ... TITANO the Super-Ape! He's like King Kong with Kryptonite Vision! He is the key to RS breaking the top tier ... as monkeys are the key to success for any team [Secret Society, Shadowpact, Squadron Supreme] ... Revenge Squad even has an 'S' in it's name, putting it in league with the other powerful Simians [also an S!].
And considering that between Alex, and his various clones [he's cloned himself once to live longer and a second time so that the clone could take the fall for him] Lex has been doppleganger'ed a couple times ... maybe we'll see a way to make Lex non-unique. [Wouldn't be suprised to see a method for Doom to be non-unique in HOG ... turning the other Doom's into "Doom-bots"].
honestly i hope superman keeps the cosmic/clone theme! i just hope they give them better cosmic abilities.
ude will have to give team superman some loaction search or ongoing plotwist search otherwise they ain't going to work as a mono team. (and yes keelek is not enough!)
My guess is that Heralds of Galactus will show that cosmic can be a viable mechanic. But I still think it is a bad mechanic to represent Superman. He is not a cosmic character. His power levels don't fluctuate. I just don't feel it captures the flavor of the team at all.
A location search would be good. Most of Team Supes can be whereever they need to be at a moment's notice. I'm not saying they need to be experts at location searches, but another card like Kelex would be helpful.
Well ... the clone theme itself has as much support of 'enabling cloning' that it would ever need I'd think [outside of making the cloning easy to work in Modern or once the set hits, Silver]. Just making more characters with the name "superman" is enough to support the clone theme. Although some card that rewards you for the number of Supermen in play could be interesting [Reign of the Supermen perhaps?]
I would agree that enabling cloneing isn't a problem.
Everything still needs to be redone.
when you get the clones to work it still isn't very effective.
+ look alike squad (waterfall of superman) is hard to pull off effectively
hopefully they will make the new lois lane like alfred, boris, or xandu.
i would also really like to see a reign of superman!!!!
team superman needs a location like this;
return from the grave
cost 4
activate - return a card named superman in your ko pile to your hand.

Yes, i will be looking very carefully in hearlds to see if they make anything useful for blue abuse.
superman really does need a reliable search card;
speed of light
location cost 3/4 ? whatever
activate-
ko a resource you control. search for look alike squad, or a location in your deck. reveal that card to your opponet. put that card face down in your resource row. shuffle your deck.
use this ability only if you control a charcter named superman and only once per turn.
discard a card named superman or 2 team superman character cards - return speed of light from your ko pile to you hand.

Brainiac 5 invented a ray that would create a small statue of anyone cought in it's beam, so that Superman would have some souvenirs of his adventures in the distant future. What Brainy didn't know was that the statues held the powers of the person they were made from inside of them. Superman took the statues to a superhero museum, but the janitor of that museum, Joe Meach, was secretly jealous of the World's Finest. One night, a lightning bolt came through the museam window and struck the display with the statues, causing them to emit a strange energy that gave Joe Meach the combined powers of the Legion of Superheroes. Joe used Chameleon Boy's powers to make the right half of his body look like Superman and the left half of this body look like Batman. He swore that he would prove himself better than the world's finest as The Composite Superman!

Exactly.
And when given the combined powers of the Legion of Superheroes my first thought would be to become half Superman and half Batman ;)
Of course with Braniac's Super-Smarts, Karate Kids Karate sKills and the power of Shark Repellant Boy, you too would have all of Batman's powers!
While she wasnt always GK, she was never Arkham. She was never caught. The closest she has to an Arkham teamup was during the Long Holloween. And getting brainwahed by Ivy in Hush.
