____ Lois clutched at her stomach, as it gurgled and roared. Food had become scarce, and supplies had run dangerously low. How could she have let this happen? She was Lois Quatermain, a survivor, a truth seeker, since when did she get caught unprepared? It was Moria. He had convinced them all that they had more than enough supplies, and more than enough food. But where was it all now? This is what she gets for putting her life in someone else’s hands.
____ “We need to explore the Manor, and try to find some food in order to survive,” she said.
____ Dr. Victor shook his head. “Pointless. We shouldn’t waste our time when that hunchbacked, malformed little runt can just tell us what he’s been surviving off.”
____ Lois turned to the little man they’d found in the Manor on the first night, who stood awkwardly in the doorway next to Mrs. Dyer. Apparently he had brought the woman into another part of the Manor that he referred to as the “cells.” But aside from that, he barely spoke. He wouldn’t tell them what he ate to survive, and if anyone got close that he didn’t trust, he’d bolt.
____ “Ignore him,” said Lois. “We need to fend for ourselves. I’m going to examine the hallway that Dorian spoke about, when he claimed that something attacked him.”
____ “Something did attack me!” Shouted Dorian. “Is is no claim but a fact.”
____ “Indeed,” said Lois, dismissively.
____ Moria clapped his hands together and took a few steps forward. “I shall accompany you.”
____ “I think I can handle it.”
____ “I insist.” Then he turned and whistled. “Nim, why don’t you come with us?”
____ Nim rose, reluctantly, and the two exchanged some kind of look that Lois didn’t see.
____ “Alright,” she continued. “I suggest everyone else explore other parts of the house and see if we can find something to eat.”
____ With that, Lois, Nim, and Moria ventured out into one of the West Halls.
____
____
____ “That’s easy for her to say,” said Evelyn Harker, who was kneeling next to the frostbitten stagecoach driver, with his head in her hands. “I’ve got a twisted ankle, and this man is still in recovery.”
____ “It’s fine dear,” said Professor Dyer. “Someone should stay and make sure the fire doesn’t go out. The rest of us will locate some food.” Then he, his wife and Oli headed towards the staircase.
____ As the Professor left, Evelyn sighed. Then a cold hand clutched at her shirt and she turned back to the man before her.
____ “We need...to get out of here.”
____ “Yes, of course. But the blizzard-”
____ “There is a great...darkness to this place. Can’t you feel it? Can’t you feel it?” His other hand clenched the cross worn around his neck so hard that it left harsh marks against his palm.
____ “Shh,” she said. “Rest and save your strength.”
____ But his words stuck with her, and she felt like the air itself watched with a cold, restless gaze.

____ After Lois, Nim and Moria had explored the West Hall, and made a new discovery, Moria decided to branch off from the group and see if he could find an answer to a question he’d been looking for. He turned left while the others turned right, and he slinked further down the long, dark hallway, eventually reaching a fork in his path. Something caught his attention down one of the pathways, a flash of something. Was it metallic? A flicker of moonlight upon the crests on the wall? No, the crests were behind him, so what was that up ahead?
____ The air split beside him and a sound echoed through the hall. Then a clang rang out as one of the crests was sent flying. Moria turned, intrigued, and reached down to find a crossbow arrow.
____ He turned back to the hall as another arrow shot through the air, but this time a searing pain told him where it had ended up. He swung back, gasping and falling back into the wall, as a fresh arrow stuck out of his shoulder.
____ Something was hunting him.
____ He hauled himself up before another blow could be struck, and rushed back to the others.
____
____
____ Somewhere else a conversation took place. An individual decided that it would be much better to work with a group, than to try and survive alone.

____ Professor Dyer, his wife, and Oli headed up the staircase just as a black figure disappeared into the uppermost floor. It was Rachel Blackwood, but the image of her black silhouette simply gliding along the upper levels sent a chill up the Professor’s spine.
____ “I will explore the second landing, and you two can explore the third,” he said.
____ No one seemed too intent on joining Mrs. Blackwood at the top.
____ Professor Dyer stepped through the piles of snow that had built up along the hallway that led from the landing, but the upper floors of the Manor seemed to be in dire straights. Rooms were boarded up, dilapidated or covered in too much snow, ice and wreckage. He did find an unused torch fastened at the end of the hall, but not much else.
____ “Such a strange Manor this is, it seems like the higher we get the more things are ruined. But the lower levels seem intact and almost lived in.”
____ With nowhere else to go, he headed back to the landing and up the stairs to the next level. As he reached it, he saw Oli and his wife staring at something, and wait, were they holding hands?
____ “Amora?”
____ They quickly disengaged.
____ “I stumbled over some ice and Mr. LeBeau steadied my fall,” she said, quickly. “Anyway, look at this.”

____ Dr. Victor and Dupin made their way towards the kitchen in order to scrounge for food. They weren’t able to find much, just some bread that strangely didn’t have mold on it, although it was extremely solid and unpleasant to eat. Then another crept into the room.
____ “Oh look, it’s the Abomination,” said Dr. Victor.
____ “Now sir, we can’t resort to such name calling,” said Dupin, breaking off a small chunk of bread. “We won’t hurt you,” he said to the small man, handing him the piece. “You must know the mysteries of such a place, will you share them with us?”
____ “You wouldn’t believe me, even if I did,” said the Abomination. “You are both such logical thinkers, you are so steeped in your realities.”
____ “Try me,” said Dupin.
____ “Don’t waste your time with this one,” said Dr. Victor. “He’s probably just been eating rats, and by the looks of it, his own flesh.”
____ The Abomination chewed and nibbled on his meal with sharp, crooked teeth, but said nothing.
____ “Look at him, look at the way he ignores us!” Dr. Victor’s voice began to rise, and he lumbered forward. “He wants to see us dead.”
____ The Abomination said nothing.
____ “Speak, you cretin!” Dr. Victor made to grab him, but the smaller man ducked away and rushed past him, past the kitchen and down a set of stairs.
____ Dr. Victor rushed after him, and Dupin watched them both disappear into the darkness.
____
____
____ Hours passed as everyone returned to the fire in the foyer to compare what they had found. Some found information, or torches, while others found food. But there wasn't enough food to go around, and half of them would starve that night. They wondered what became of Dr. Victor and the Abomination, until finally they emerged from the darkness.
____ Dr. Victor walked into the room, carrying the crumpled body of the smaller man in his arms. The Abomination was bleeding from several areas of his body, and it looked like he had been attacked multiple times throughout the night. Between that and the arrow in Moria’s shoulder, starvation might become the better option.

At the end of this day phase, the person with the lowest sanity will be killed.
You can ask for sanity count updates, but those are given at the end of the day phase.
Can I use the warmth of someone else’s torch, or do I have to have my own?
Multiple players can share torches in the same room, if one of them brings one.
However, the maximum amount of players in a room is equal to the number of supplies first available in that room.
