Bound, Gagged, And Mailed Back To Tolliver: Once per game, when Deadpool would be KO'd by an opposing attack, your opponent instead chooses one of the following:
Score points normally and place him in the square that he starting this game on click #1.
KO him normally but don't score him.
Neural Disruptor Net: Incapacitate, when he does, after actions resolve deal each hit target penetrating damage equal to the number of action tokens they have.
I've just recently started looking for HorrorClix. If you have extras, message me and we can work out a trade.
Week 1 1.2 Gun Kid - The Doctor 2.Limelight451 - Rudolph 3.Rurouni KJS- Number Five
HM - NeverEnoughDakka - Jack Cooper.
Great Stuff, tough choices this week.
As far as the week 2 prompts go:
Design a dial for a character based on their FIRST appearance
-OR-
Design a dial for the character you grew up with that you loved
I would have probably gone with 8th Man and used both. When I was a kid I saw him on TV and was hooked because I'd never seen anything like that before. (2 other ancient black and white cartoons, Astro Boy and Gigantor, also came to American Television. I guess it could be considered early anime?)
I found a DVD of it a few years ago and saw that he didn't age well at all. Sheesh, it was excruciating. But I still love the character.
I'll try to vote for week 2 entries this week. but I think it will be a while before I can participate. These last few months have been a little much for me.
Keep up the great work, everybody. It's a fun read.
"Big whoop, I'm spooning a Barrett .50 cal. I could kill a building."

"Alcohol may have been a factor."
We're overdue for Wizkids to make Joe on the Lawmaster and other 2000AD characters.

I already REP'd him for it, but major props to LostGaladorian. His entry's success, in terms of design and votes, demonstrate that you don't need Special Powers/Traits to make a great dial! Who'd have thunk it, in the year 2023?
Good (still) morning all! Fingers up! Voting for ROUND 1 is over with a congrats out to LostGaladorian's Spectra for taking top spot!

As for Round 2, not sure if this counts as first appearance, but it utilizes the first game's starter trio...I think that's close enough

Gotta Catch 'Em All!: During force construction, you may include up to 6 bystanders with the Pokemon keyword (Minimum: 1) as part of your force, paying each bystander's cost reduced by -5. Place 1 of them in your starting area with your force and the rest on your sideline. Switch Out: FREE: Choose a friendly bystander with the Pokemon keyword that has not been given an action this turn. Move them to the sideline and place a different bystander with the Pokemon keyword from your sideline in the square they last occupied. // When a friendly bystander with the Pokemon keyword is KOed, you may place a bystander with the Pokemon keyword from your Sideline in a square within range and line of fire. Bond Of Trainer And Pokemon: Pokemon Trainer takes a maximum of 2 damage from attacks. SAFEGUARD: Outwit. Battle Items: Perplex. Regeneration, but only if a friendly bystander with the Pokemon keyword is within range and line of fire.
Bond Of Trainer And Pokemon: When Venusaur would take damage, you may instead deal 1 unavoidable damage to a friendly PKM#001 Pokemon Trainer. Petal Blizzard: Pulse Wave, but deals 2 damage instead of 1. Sleep Powder: Incapacitate, but only to target a single character. Hit characters are assigned 2 action tokens instead of 1.
Bond Of Trainer And Pokemon: When Blastoise would take damage, you may instead deal 1 unavoidable damage to a friendly PKM#001 Pokemon Trainer. Rain Dish: At the end of your turn, if Blastoise occupies water terrain, you may heal a friendly character with the Trainer keyword 1 click. If you can't, modify Blastoise's defense by +1 until the beginning of your next turn. Iron Defense: Impervious. // POWER: Blastoise can reduce penetrating damage until it is hit.
Bond Of Trainer And Pokemon: When Charizard would take damage, you may instead deal 1 unavoidable damage to a friendly PKM#001 Pokemon Trainer. Fly: Charge, Running Shot. Dragon Dance: Toughness, Super Senses. // POWER: Modify Charizard's speed and damage +1 until it is hit.
Notes: Inspired by some other pokemon dial concepts I've seen, I like how this turned out. I might turn this into a thread, making notable trainers and more pokemon bystanders. All in all, a fun mock up.

Kinetic Force: When Speedball moves at least one square and hits one or more adjacent characters, you may place a Bounce token on this card after actions resolve. Increase Speedball's defense value by the number of Bounce tokens on this card. I'm Bouncing Off The Walls Again: If Speedball has at least 2 Bounce tokens on this card, he can use "Improved Movement: Characters" and Forceblast. If he has at least 3 Bounce tokens on this card, he can use Flurry and Sidestep and may Sidestep between Flurry. If he has at least 4 Bounce tokens on this card, when he knocks back a character he may knock back characters larger than Speedball BOUNCE: Leap/Climb. Toughness. All attacks against Speedball deals knockback. Speedball doesn't take knockback damage. Bouncing Ball of Kinetic Energy: Incap. Smoke Cloud. Smoke Cloud as Free but only 3 squares and if Speedball moved. Kinetic Discharge: Stop. Psychic Blast. When Speedball uses Psychic Blast he may remove all his Bounce tokens and increase his Attack, Range or Damage for each Bounce token removed.
I was the biggest New Warrior fan as a kid. Speedball was my favorite. He was never a threat to the villains but was always a huge annoyance and as he learned more about his powers he really grew to be a decent powerhouse...he just didn't really know it. Even at his most effective he was basically just a guy bouncing all over the place who's main power seemed to benefit more from geometry rather than actual strategy to the point he got some huge haymakers against Terrax, Emma Frost, and others. Plus his kinetic field build up would not only make him nearly impossible to hurt and would protect him from point blank blasts from the likes of Nitro and the Fenris Twins.

Arms of the Octopus: Improved Movement: Elevated Lashing Tentacles: Giant Reach: 3 & Flurry. // Impervious, but if Doctor Octopus misses his d6 roll for it, he cannot use it again until the beginning of your turn. Web of Death: Perplex. // Support. Doctor Octopus may use it to target opposing characters, and if he does, gain 1 Mission Point for each Click that opposing character heals.
Doctor Octopus was always one of my favorite Spider-Man villains as a kid. Because he seemed like a dark reflection of Peter -or Peter as an adult- I always preferred his rivalry with Spider-Man over Green Goblin's, which felt comparatively one-dimensional.
A BIG part of that feeling was the "Web of Death" arc where Doctor Octopus discovers a dying Spider-Man, and rather than taking the opportunity to kill him, Doc Ock worked tirelessly to save Peter's life-- something that astounded l'il Squabbler. He unmasked Spidey to see his patient, but didn't lord it over Peter. Nor did Doc Ock allow his partner, Stunner, to harm Spider-Man. For among the first times, Doctor Octopus was a full-on medical doctor, acting with a tenderness rarely seen from it.
It was that personal relationship, that respect for his adversary, that made Doctor Octopus more than a nefarious mustache-twirler, but rich and deeply human.
Then Kaine dropped a building on him.

Movement: Elevated, Outdoor Blocking My father's suit: Steal Energy.//When a friendly standard character is KO'd, after resolutions, note his current click number and turn him to click #11. I WANT TO HEAR YOU SCREAM: Battle Fury, Blades/Claws/Fangs, Giant Reach: 3// When Spider-Man would take damage, you may instead turn him to the last noted click. Protected: Pulse Wave I'm glad you saw that too, because I don't think anyone would have believed me: Super Senses. When Spider-Man would take damage from a ranged attack, after resolutions, heal him 1 click.
The original Ultimate Spider-Man run was the first comics series I ever read, and hold a dear place my heart to this day. This incarnation of Peter tends to be associated with the excellent Venom story arc, as frequently video games depicting him base their mechanics around it. So it seemed like a good way to highlight him, and made me realize how few takes on Spidey with the symbiote like this we see in clix. (For those of you wondering why he has the Sinister Syndicate Keyword, Peter was the unwilling sixth member of this universe's incarnation of the Sinister Six.)

With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility: Defend, Super Senses. Protected: Outwit. Swinging through the City: Leap/Climb, Charge.
Notes: I realize the irony considering that Brennan4 already made a Spider-Man dial, however if I was to go by something I grew up and loved it'd have to be Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man. It was the reason I got into comic books and more importantly filmmaking(which is now my field of career today!), I was just a boy when I saw it and it changed my life for forever. Call it Nostalgia, but I still think it’s the best Spider-Man movie (and honestly that is pure nostalgia and I don’t care!). The quake is supposed to represent his web kicks! He’s got long clicks because in the movie he really takes a huge beating and is still able to fight his own against Green Goblin!

I'LL PICK MY OWN NAME...AND MY OWN LIFE: When a character would be KO'd by Raiden, you may instead choose for that character to remain on its last click. If you do, heal Raiden 1 click and remove an action token from him. ADVANCED SKULL SUIT: Stealth. Running Shot, but do not half movement if Raiden began the turn occupying water terrain. HIGH-FREQUENCY BLADE: STOP. Exploit Weakness. When Raiden hits with a close attack, give a hit target an action token after actions resolve.
Significant Appearance:Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty
Design Notes: What perfect timing. I just finished Sons of Liberty a couple days ago, and I still have a lot of feelings about it. I absolutely loved it, and Raiden's story was a big part of that. Introduced as Snake's successor in this game, Raiden was far less sure of himself and for more inexperienced than Snake, which made for a very fun protagonist! That said, I do get why fans weren't pleased to start the game, only to find you get to play as Snake for maybe 1/4th of the game at most.
He may be best known for his Revengeance appearance now, but I really wanted to tap more into his spy appearance pre-cyborgification.

NOTES, NOTES, NOTES, HO!
My childhood can easily be measured from one cartoon to the next:
Super Friends>He-Man>Transformers>GIJoe>Bravestarr>ThunderCats>Ninja Turtles>Disney Power Hour>Pirates of Darkwater>X-Men>Sailor Moon>XOSquad
Super Friends are here already. I’ve got a He-Man mega thread 500 dials deep. Transformers get done with some frequency here. Dark_Knight gave us GIJoe in his magnum opus. Bravestarr is Filmation so I’m saving him for my thread. Lost Galadorian has satiated my TMNT craving for the time being. I’ve already done DuckTales characters. Pirates of Darkwater is a distant memory I’d have to rediscover. X-Men hype is waiting for the revival. Sailor Moon is so abstract and OP I may as well do Dragonball Z. XOSquad would be completely unfamiliar to 99% of you. ThunderCats it is. I’ve seen people do the good kitties a few times but don’t recall their big bad getting the spotlight.
For those not in the know, ThunderCats was at the end of the morality lesson cartoon era. (Ahem…The More You Know…Is Half the Battle…) Most agree that Bravestarr took it way too far and is the likely cause of closing that chapter of children’s entertainment (kid gets addicted to drugs, overdoses, and dies over the course of 22 minutes) but ThunderCats usually had its comedic relief (Snarf) deliver the moral at the end of each episode, usually spotlighting Mumm-Ra or Snarf himself as how not to behave in any given situation.
Never entirely fleshed out, Mumm-Ra was an immortal mummy living in a black pyramid that called upon totems of The Ancient Spirits of Evil to transform from his frail mummy form to the near omnipotent Mumm-Ra the Ever Living and plague the ThunderCats each week. Unlimited power, little to no stamina. Initially his own reflection would send him scurrying back to his sarcophagus but that weakness was overcome by the end of the first season and it was mainly expending too much power taking on Lion-O that always led to his downfall, but as evil’s very existence perpetuates his own any defeat was always temporary.
Basically able to do any feat as the story required he’s presented here with his two forms each functionally indestructible burdened only by the time required to rejuvenate. Although a very unusual design it’s about as accurate as anything I’ve ever attempted. Pretty sure it’s the most text I’ve ever produced for a 2 click dial. It’s so far off the beaten path assigning a balanced point value was more a challenge than normal. Any feedback about it ahead of time would be real cool as it’s usually what costs me votes.

Movement: Elevated, Characters Wind and Pain: If Yukio is adjacent to a friendly character named Storm, she has Energy Shield/Deflection and Enhancement. If Yukio is adjacent to a friendly character named Wolverine, she has Combat Reflexes and Empower.
Exciting, wasn't it: Charge
Pushing right to the limit: Flurry
No risk, sweetie: Precision Strike
No Reward: Blades/Claws/Fangs
You're never more alive!: Super Senses
Then when you're about to die!: Regeneration
Most fun I've had in ages: Perplex
That's what made the experience so exquisite: Probability Control
First/Significant Appearance: Wolverine #2 (1982)
Notes: Yukio might be the most missing character we have from the X-Mythos at this point. Introduced in Claremont/Miller's Wolverine run, she was designed to be a martial artist/love interest for either Wolverine or Storm, until the EIC at Marvel said no to same sex relationships. See also Mystique/Destiny. Anyway, she's a devil-may-care battler and bon vivant from Madripoor, and I think it's about time she gets clicked.

Whilst you contemplate... ROUND 3 - November /rAYn/:
Design a dial for a character that controls or has canonical ties to the weather -or-
Design a dial for a character from a "Reign" storyline
Out of curiosity, what is meant by a "reign storyline?"
I reckon it's a storyline title with that word in it, such as:
Reign of the Supermen (1992)
Batman: Reign of Terror (1999)
Spider-Man: Reign (2006)
Dark Reign (2008)
Reign of Doomsday (2011)
Reign of X (2020)
Devil's Reign (2022)
