I really liked Kansas when they first started out. In fact they appeared with Fleetwood Mac and Reo Speedwagon at the first concert I ever went to.
American prog rock. i prefer their early stuff to the later stuff that became their biggest hits. It took me almost forty years before I could stand to listen to Dust In The Wind.

Love it. I'll buy it on iTunes if it's available. Tried to rep but I've obviously been too inactive lately for a variety of reasons. Not the least of which is the disastrous events of November5th. I have to ask. Why are comments disabled?

So I've been busy rebuying music I already own so that I can make and listen to mixes of my choice off of iTunes. I bought Led Zeppelin's fourth album and of course that meant Stairway to Heaven. I've never disliked this song but I came to resent it when the radio stations seemed to think it was the only Led Zep song worthy of airplay. At one point I came to expect an all Stairway to Heaven station.

I don’t THINK it’s ever really been forbidden at Guitar Center. I learned to play a somewhat simplified version in 1972, right after it came out. It was good enough that most people didn’t really know the difference. At the time, anyone with a guitar thought playing their version made them look cutting edge, and it did become common and tiresome to keep hearing bad renditions. I’m guessing that Wayne’s World popularized the joke.

As to Guitar Center, anyone who visits frequently has experienced someone playing badly as loudly as possible. I’ve never seen the employees interfere, although I’m sure they must somewhere, sometimes. But doubt that Stairway gets more than a smirk or an eye roll.

When you publish a song to YouTube, YouTube generates a "Topic" channel for your band. You can either leave the song there, or move it to your official band channel (which is an annoying process). I am guessing that since the channels are not moderated by anyone that is way comments are disabled.
