Aha, some action at last! Mystique will Perplex up her damage to 3 and attack Psylocke. AV9 against DV15. Needs a 6. Gets the 6. So that's 2 clicks to Psylocke.
The X-Men came dashing at her, but Mystique Mystique was ready, and met Psylocke with a high kick to the midriff upon her arrival.
"X-Men," she said, "how nice of you to come to call."
If you Perplexed Mystique's damage to 3, that would mean she did 3 clicks to Psylocke, not 2, giving Psylocke 4 clicks total.
-----
Psylocke staggered from Mysqtique's blow, clutching her stomach.
"Betsy!" cried Marrow. Whirling on Mystique, Sarah's lips peeled back from her teeth in a feral snarl. "I've had just about enough out of you, you little witch!" Shards of bone erupted all along her arms and shoulders, causing her blue-skinned opponent to balk. Marrow plowed into Mystique, shredding costume and blue skin alike with a vicious assault from her claws.
Psylocke had recovered enough to add her own to the fray - after Marrow's attack, Betsy Braddock grabbed the arm of the wounded and stunned Mystique, twisting and turning, knocking the wily shapeshifter to the ground.
"If I were you, I'd stay down, Mystique."

Marrow will Push to attack Mystique, NOT BCF - 9 AV vs. 16 DV, needs a 7. Rolls an 11. 3 clicks to Mystique. One click to Marrow.
Psylocke will Push to Incapacitate Mystique - 8 AV vs. 13 DV, needs a 5. Rolls double 5s, but since it's not a damage attack, no knockback is done. One more token to Mystique, and one click of Push damage. One click to Psylocke.
I'll clear, then you really have no choice but to clear on your next turn, so the turn after that, Mystique may be going down, but I'm going to try to take Psylocke down with me. AV6 on DV12. The roll is a 7. one more click to Psylocke and that's the KO. I full expect that Marrow will finish me off next turn, but let's see what happens. A bad roll or two on your part and I could theoretically still pull this off.
From the ground, Mystique swung out with her left, swiping Psulocke's own legs out from under her. Still shaky from Mystique's last attack, she wasn't able to react quickly enough. Psylocke went down, her head struck the concrete and she was unconscious. Mystique rose painfully to her feet and confronted Marrow.
"Well, do you have what it takes?"
Ok, here's what happened. Marrow cleared, then you cleared. Then, she goes for the final strike. 7 AV vs. 12 DV, needs a 5. Rolls the critical miss. One click to Marrow. That gives her 4 clicks, and since your damage bumps up to 2 on Mystique's final click, the game is yours if you hit. 6 AV vs. a 13 DV, and you've been rolling hot.
Two die rolls in a row, and all I need is a 5 or greater. Two 73% chances, and I miss them both.
Well, okay. I may actually manage to pull this off. Mystique attacks Marrow. AV6 against DV13. Needs a 7. And the roll is a 9. That's game.
Well the dice say I won, but it seems like a bit of a cheap victory after that critical miss. By all rights this game should have been yours. I don't think anyone can say they've ever been in a closer game, though. One piece standing with one last click of life.
I wouldn't mind playing against that team again sometime (or a variant thereof). I thought of a couple of other teams to put up against them. If you're up for another game (same team or not), I'm certainly willing.
Excellent game, G. It seems I have a bit of a problem rolling Crit Misses during the endgame (witness the FF4/Moleman game), so I can't say I was surprised.
I'd be up for another game. Give me a little bit to monkey around with some teams, I'll shoot you a PM, and we can start a new thread. Sound good?
Fine by me. We can do specific teams again if you want or just a motley assortment of figures. I love doing the team games, but there are some favorite characters of mine who always get overlooked that way. I usually do like to keep to heroes vs. villains - stories are much easier to write that way.
